Initially announced during the Tokyo Gaming Show, PlayStation Plus is now coming to the PS Vita. Bundled with the the 2.0.0 system software update, the Vita's PlayStation Plus subscription will garner players cloud storage space, automatic updates, and access to the Vita's Instant Game Collection. 2.0.0 will also add several new features, including the email app, an updated content manager with wireless PC connections, 1080p video, and an updated and optimized browser. Update 2.0.0 sounds huge, and PlayStation Vita owners should be excited for it to release on November 19.

The PlayStation Vita Instant Game Collection, much like the PlayStation 3's version, will provide subscribers will access to a library of great games. At least initially, the collection will include such Vita titles as: Uncharted: Golden Abyss, Gravity Rush, WipEout 2048, Jet Set Radio HD, Tales from Space: Mutant Blobs Attack! and the PSP hit Final Fantasy Tactics: War of the Lions. Wait, let me read that again... aren't those the best games out for the Vita? Damn, that's pretty generous of Sony.

The 2.0.0 software update for PlayStation Vita will be released on November 19 (next Monday) and will include the features described above, along with PlayStation Plus. Current PS3 subscribers to Plus will get into the Vita Plus system for free, but the details on whether new subscribers can do that are vague. The cost of a PlayStation Plus membership are either $18 for 3 months or $50 for a year.
