He'll be available this evening In France I think. I'll give it a try...
We should wonder what's absolutely necessary to survive in this fight, and then decide which monster to keep in the party.

- Of course a COM, obviously Chichu, absolute need of his super speed and strength.

- Now, is a SYN useful ?... As I believe the objective is to survive enough under his attacks... Not sure about this...

- What about a RAV ?... Gilgamesh has a low stagger point, but even if it's good to reach a high percentage of stagger (aim 999% let's say), I think Serah and Noel can both be RAV and do the work... While Chichu attacks and stabilize the stagger gauge.

- A SEN could be the second monster to be chosen, as it can help to reduce the damage Gilgamesh does to the party, with Tortoise and RAV/COM/SEN (don't know the name of the strategy in english).

- And what about a SAB... Gilgamesh is immune to poison, but can be deprotected and made weak against magic... So it should be nice to have someone doing this while the rest of the party does damage to Gilga. But Serah can do this very well... So maybe not the right choice of monster.

- a MED maybe ? But we all know that when it comes to being MED, at level 99, serah and noel don't really need help for that...

So what do you think ?

Hmmm COM/SEN/SYN choice sounds good.

Yakshini could be useful with the feral link, but then that would make him use a whole place in the party for just one shot, if you see what I'm talking about. And Serah wouldn't have to time to debuff Gilga correctly... Well, we'll have to try and see.

Indeed the combos you mentioned should do it. Once the party is buffed, and Gilga debuffed (that should be SAB/SAB/SYN, or SAB/RAV/SYN), bang, stagger process with RAV/RAV/COM, then full attack with Cerberus.
In case of big attack from Gilga, Tortoise, then healing process (this makes at least 5 paradigms), and so 1 more possible, so why not another Cerberus to increase attacks periodicity ?

I just tried PuPu... this little fella can be a major problem if not awara of the "rules" lol.

EDIT : In fact it's just that PuPu can cast powerful fire and thunder spells, nothing to do with a RAV attacking them.

So the simple strategy : Cerberus to get rid of all PuPu on the field, then stagger the saucer, debuff it, and then take it down.

But of course, it's PuPu, so it's not over : after the "crash", other PuPus will be on the ground, and they will cast meteors to defend themselves ! This is a heavy attack, as it deals wound damage (is this the right word used in the english version of the game for the damage you can't heal ?).
Chichu has never been so useful LOL ! in about one ATB charge, it kills a PuPu that's on the ground. Great help.

I'll get its crystal first, and then I'll try Gilgamesh

I can't get PuPu's crystal ! It's crazy, I fought it dozens of time, and still nothing ! Gosh...
Can't even think of trying Gilgamesh for the moment, but thanks for the info about the "rage" part

EDIT: FINALLY ! I got this freaking MED... It was about time. Now I'll see that Gilgamesh...

OH MY GOD... This battle is just a pain in the a**, really, it's just ridiculously hard. The guy keeps on attacking when you reach the half of his health bar, and so you have to choose between heal or keep the stagger gauge stable. And won't even talk about this f****ng special attack he does once he loses half HP. You can't even predict when he'll do it, and can't change paradigms when it occurs.

Indeed I'll try to put the easy option on, 'cuz this is just Impossible in normal mode.
I wonder what they were thinking about when they decide to give him all these HP, element resistance, and attack frequency.

The battle isn't luck dependant. A consistent farming strategy is already out... takes about 7+ minutes. But with Chichu, 5 min is possible.


I'll get the DLC in 10 hours from now, and then will make a vid and strategy.

h yes Cloudburst would be quite useful in a battle such as this one. Good thing I have one of those.
