Windows XP, THPS2, Pain in the ass

Okay I installed Pro skater 2 last night for some old school skating, getting the same problem as everyone else, crash when you try to play, kicked to desktop. Here's a list of everything I've tried:

Installed patch for nVidia cards (tony.zip) from Activision website.
Installed patch from this website. (Patch.com)
Updated registry with Activision's registry edit.
Tried every combination of compatibility wizard settings there is.
Disabled my secondary monitor via device manager as according to the activision support site. (Radeon 9550)
Tried 16 bit colour and 640x480 resolution as recommended by Activision.
Tried software and hardware modes, full and basic acceleration, normal and high rendering modes.
Restored THPS2 to it's default location.
Rolled back & re-installed video drivers.
Re-installed directX.
Tried removing Movies folder.
Tried removing the .dll file that runs movies.

Okay guys I did all this been working on THPS2 for 6 solid hours and still no luck, I consider myself pretty knowledgeable on computers and don't see a solution. If any of you know something I've missed please let me know. Otherwise I think I'm pretty much screwed, bit of a shame for saying I've had the game years and it's by far the best of the series imho. Anyone can help me get this working without buying a new comp or something please let me know at:

this can resolve your problem: do not copy nocdcrack. (if you have disc insert it, or create cd image file). download
http://thps.board.cz/download/thps2_patch.zip , copy it in your thps2 directory and start, press "y" and thats it. once again the problem is nocdcrack.
