Off-Season

ok everyone now that the off-season is here jot down some stuff like off season moves that you feel will happen. Like for example i think that the yanks will get Vlad.

Richie Sexson will not be with the Brewers next season.. Just a hunch I have..

I understand.....Lilly was pretty good i mean he had his moments when he has some great games and then there were the other times when things werent lookin so good but hey what can ya do. Anyway whats up with Vlad. He is prob going to Baltimore?????? That would be messed. He needed to go to a team where he can win and Baltimore will be there jus not anytime soon.

It's all about the money, Jackson.

Basically they got rid of Hernandez and Long because they save money. Long and Hernandez' contract combined is more than Karsay's. Hopefully they'll take the money they saved there with the money they saved in the Lilly deal and use it to re-sign Miguel Tejada. Although to be honest, that's probably not likely. They probably won't tender a contract to Guillen because they just picked up 2 outfielder's (and I think Kielty is good, he fits right in with the organizational philosophy... he hardly ever strikes out and takes alot of walks. Besides you have a healthy Jermaine Dye returning (and will stay healthy all season, I hope, up to and including the World Series win) and hopefully Byrnes can stay around .300 all year with no major slumps. The A's website mentioned that signing Benny Santiago isn't out of the question, since he supposedly will come cheap.

Anyway, Jackson, let's cross our fingers and hope the A's can prove the rest of the league wastes their money by buying the best players in the league again. Maybe a consistant example of how to build a club cost-effectively will cause the rest of the league to follow suit. But I sincerely doubt it.

I can't beleive that the Mariners would consider giving up Cameron. The guy's a beast. Not to mention the A's are their #1 rival right now. I'd like it, but if they add Cameron, they would have to get rid of one of their outfielders, it's already looking a bit crowded. Dye has RF everyday (if healthy) Byrnes in CF and McMillon/Kotsay/Kielty in LF. Either way, going into the season with Crosby as SS has me worried as well and we can't start the season without a decent backstop either, hopefully the A's can do something ther as well.

I cant believe how lame the mets have been this off season. The have made no moves except for offering Luis Castillo of the marlins which he turned down and i dont blame him cuz the mets i guess dont plan on doing anything this off season.....they have made no moves which they owe so much to the fans!!!!!

Hey Chicky, you got Jackson's and my pitching coach from Oakland, Rick Peterson. I'd say his credentials are good. He can make your staff better, don't overlook the power of a good coach.

I wouldn't mind getting Cameron and I forgot Hatteberg used to catch. Good point, Jackson. Hatteberg never said he hated catching (at least that I've read, in fact, he was reluctant to play first in Oakland because he never played that position before) ANyway, I just hope it all works out in the long run.

THE yanks have gotten Javier Vasquez(sp) which i think is a good pick up for them but i hate the yanks and i whish the mets would get up off their "we are gonna rebuild and get younger arses" and do something about it. The yanks dont even have close to the problems the mets have and the yanks are making way more moves then the mets....ARGHHH
