LS3s are officially the shit. I had no idea til this guy walked everyone starting from behind! Best part is right at the beginning where he races the GTR and is puttering into second until he's next to him then he goes 100% and bye bye overpriced Nissan.

I just don't understand why these new cars have to weigh so damn much. The GT-R weighs 3800+ pounds. Case in point... my 1993 Vic had all the power toys, a larger, heavier engine, and was a good bit larger in all respects... and weighed 3800 pounds.

If the Nissan weighed as much as the Vette, the Vette would be dead... at least off the line. Everyone seems to be finally dynoing the Nissan and it's apparently making about 510 horsepower, not 480 like Nissan says.

An AWD drivetrain alone adds plenty of weight. Then the dimensions of the car naturally make it end up with that much weight. Just like my Camaro. Next to a lot of cars, they're pretty big. The wifes Sonata is 4 doors, but you can tell it's so much smaller. I parked it in my parents carport the other day. Usually the Camaro would look kinda normal next to my mom's Trailblazer. The Sonata looked like a toy sitting next to it.

That GTR driver in the second "From a dig" vid can't drive, messing up the first launch, re-racing and not doing any better the second proves it. I.E. stealth = same weight and FAR less power and much slower. Blown 302 with drags couldn't pull me from a dig. But smokes me on a roll.

A bone stock fat ass Stealth R/T TT should pull 1.8 60' times. 1.7x 60' with the boost up, and even in the 1.6x territory is not unheard of, you just have to be hard on the car. And, of course, that is on STREET tires. Seen it all the time on 3SI.org. A good launch on AWD out of the hole can pull ANYTHING for the first bit, if both are on street tires.

Yes, but the thing is he didn't gain on me as fast once i launched and got going, but would keep pulling on me on the roll we got. The car(and other AWD's i've driven) pull harder from a good launch than they do from a roll at any speed.

Any GTR will out-launch any Corvette on any given day if both cars have equally competent drivers. It's just a matter of physics. The AWD GTR WILL launch harder and more constistantly. The Vette will beat it past 60 mph, though.
