What do you guys think about it?

With the rising cost of Gas and diesel, $0.70/gallon to make Biodiesel seems like a good deal to me.

It's cheap, better for your engine, and pretty easy to make. It's better for your engine than petro-based diesel, gives you better fuel economy, removes fuel deposits from your fuel lines, and your engine lasts longer (not that diesel engines already lasted a long time), and it's better for the environment than petro diesel.

Only down side to Biodiesel is that you have to make it yourself and the chemicals you use to make it may be dangerous if you fool around making it.

I'm going to be getting my first car next summer, and it's going to have to be a diesel. I'm going to probably be going with an F-350 Dually (Who wouldn't want a ridiculously large truck if you could afford it?).

What the hell is a gallon?

Here Per liter
Unleaded is $1.50 odd
Diesel is $1.75 odd
LPG is $0.70 odd

Since your average vehicle is Unleaded that kinda sucks.

Where would biodiesel fit in on this list?

I wanna get my car converted to LPG but it cost a few thousand dollars

Do you know why they stopped using leaded gas? If you think breathing in carbon deposits are bad huff a whiffs of lead deposits into your system. A lot of people were getting sick and dying at the end of the leaded fuel days. Its prolly the only good thing the epa did with messing with automobiles.

Bobby cant do his math, so your misinformed. If LPG is .70 per Liter, and there is 3.79L in a gallon that would be .70x3.79 which would equal, 2.653, rounded down to 2.65 at the pump. The problem with using LPG is that its not as effective as common fossil fuels used to make our precious gasoline. It would be an expensive move for most drivers to even convert there cars over to save a few bucks at the pump.

Think about this now, if ethanol is only at max 10% additive to fuel and food cost are outrageous think of how expensive most foods will become if we would rely on biodiesel. More countries would starve cause of high food cost, wars would break out in those smaller countries, theft and murder among bigger countries..of course this is all on a large scale, but they all start small and grow.

If seen cars that run off fryer vat fat, you can prolly get out an run faster.

Imo majority of the people who i see bitching about high gas prices are the morons who bought into the whole oversized suv crowd, the smoking crowd...carton of cigs is almost 30 bucks for something on average is smoked up in a couple days. drinkers as well, i have a lot of drunks coming into my work pawnin shit for "gas money", yet theyre always coming in drunk. one of our usuals came in right before i left same excuse, i leave work to go get gas and sure as shit he walking out of the convience store with a 12 pack, an no where near parked to the pumps.

Ethanol slowly eats away at plastic and rubber, 10% is the threshold for older cars, while modern cars now can take up to 30%, but again its just speeding up the time fuel lines get eaten up. supposedly ethanol increases the octane rating of what your actually using, yet mpg is actually decreased. might be cleaner for the environment but your still paying more for it. petrol was made to power cars.... not corn.

fuel cells as in like hybrids use now? gas/electric. The batteries in those cars only last for so long before having to be changed out, and my neighbor across the street got one of those prius' when they first came out but upgraded to a hybrid civic or accord last year, and the honda tech was telling him to replace the battery packs in those cars is upwards of 10k bucks.

idk what the hell a fortnight is but uh i can live off 30 bucks for the week after i drop 60 bucks to fill my tank.

A fortnight is 2 weeks.

Fuel cell test buses have been lasting up to 2500 hours. So after this time is this when the $10,000 replacement has to be made? That would suck to do that.
