We're about due for a new Mass Effect 3 Operation, and this week's event, Operation: Silencer, encourages players to kill as many Banshees as possible. That's right, we've moved on from Phantoms to arguably the worst enemy type in Mass Effect 3.
This weekend's Allied Goal will be set at 3,000,000 Banshees, which rewards all players a Victory Pack if completed. The Squad Goal is the same as last week's, which requires one full extraction on any map, against any enemy on Gold difficulty. Again, this rewards a Commendation Pack, which grants one N7 weapon or weapon upgrade. Because you know, who doesn't want a maxed out N7 Hurricane?
Just like before, the PS3 ME3 community will be able to participate, since it appears BioWare and Sony have finally managed to work things out. Interestingly, the event will run a bit longer than usual, starting at its usual time at 6:00 PM PST on a Friday but ending at 5:00 PM on the following Monday. Previously, events would end at 5:00 AM on Monday.
BioWare has also released some updated multiplayer stats, and it looks like Soldiers are still in the lead as the most common class. Infiltrators have become significantly more popular, however, falling in second behind Soldiers. Previously, Soldiers made up 18% of the population, followed by Vanguards at 17% and Infiltrators at 16%. Now it's 20% and 19.2% for Soldiers and Infiltrators, with no mention of Vanguards.
