With the difference being that Fallout 3 had a legitimate ending where aftermath was shown and you knew your sacrifice was for something, where in contrast in ME3 the galaxy could still be pretty *bleep*ed and you don't get shit as far as information goes, sure. Meh, even if they do something to address the ending I don't think the damage can be reversed at this point. Anything they may be "planning" to do or anything they may actually do about the ending is something that should have just been in the damn game. Not to mention if they do a "true ending" in DLC I'm sure they'll charge for it. As much as I hate the ending, I think making a better one and then making fans buy it in addition to the game would be even more insulting.

The ending leaves me with so many mixed feelings. But I think my disappointment aspect of it boils down to only one thing. Those damn Mass Relays. I feel they were the DEFINING aspect of the series. Everything revolves around that technology. Whilst the concept of "Mass Effect" itself is the the 'entire soul' of the ME series (obviously), the Mass Relays are pretty much the medium to exhibit that 'soul'. In other words, beside the concept of "Mass Effect", the Relays are the sole importance to game franchise. To wipe them out makes it very difficult to accept any kind of future for ME's galaxy.

Any future Mass Effect betrays it's name with the destruction of the Relays. Unless this is effectively the end of the series (no, not the trilogy, the SERIES). No more games.

I just read that massive OP in the BioWare forum thread regarding the indoctrination theory. GOD DAMN that shit fits. The little boy really is a huge clue. Why would nobody help a kid onto an emergency transport? Anderson never acknowledged him in the vent scene either. As stated in the above video, the Catalyst lingers and even smirks when you choose control, giving into indoctrination. But when you choose to destroy, he disappears right away, knowing he's failed.

Mission Accomplished, Bioware. This is probably one of the most discussed endings of any video game.

In answer to the Ven (the Prothaen VI) detection issue. This is kind of a hard spot to debunk if it is indoctrination. It can easily be rolled up into this statement: The process of being indoctrinated does not equal being indoctrinated. If that makes sense.

Basically the VI detected an "indoctrinated" presence, not someone undergoing the process. The process is slow and subtle after all, and I doubt detectable.

The other arguement at this point is the KL was probably in the temple the whole time, and why did it take so long for the VI to detect any idoctrinated presence? Could it be it was just picking up the signals from the reaper ships around them? Who knows. If the theory is true, and I stress the "if," then this is a sloppy moment in writing unless "maybe it's because you have the cypher" is a rationalization done on the spot by Liara and not a fact.

What if Shep reacted to the devise like they did because they were already in the start of Harby's mind rape?

Like said, we won't know anything until Bioware says something. Either we wait until PAX or the 10,000 plus strong fan rage forces them to say something sooner.

Agreed. This theory is grasping at something that isn't there. There are too many holes and most of it is a stretch at best.

It's not so much as holes in the theory, but more like no right in your face proof saying what exactly is going on. Granted I still stand that the whole ending part with charging the hill really seems surreal and odd to me. It doesn't fit as a "real" event, and hence why I support the theory.

There's a lot of valid arguements that are out there in favor of the indoctrination theory. It's nicer to grab at straws and come up with theory than rage at the developer. And to be honest, developers do have to think of their fans and their feelings. After all it is the fan's that make sure they get paid. Same goes for EA.

I'm not saying they should take the theory, just that they do need to try and patch things with their hurting fan base otherwise it will hurt them in the end.
