So anyway, I had an idea of roleplaying a drunk and drug addict. He's a war veteran an started to drink and take drugs when his wife died. He's not that strong, but with all the alcohol and drugs, he manages to go on rampages after it. He lives in Riften as he is broke and thats a suitable place for it. Eventually (around lvl20) he joins the dark brotherhood (doesn't complete until lvl 40) and then calls the sanctuary home.
Anyway, whats your guys ideas?

You could take the roleplay as a Archmage, which you will need to finish the CoW in order to unlock the full title. As an Archmage you can do misc quests in the College and do your own research to benefit the the College and you as well. You can also do several quests and misc objectives that's fitting for a mage, like collection all the masks or exploring old ruins.
As for a backstory, well you could go with a Dark Elf mage who originated from Morrowind. When you got to Skyrim you were hated and shunned by most people, left by your family and everyone else you decided that the world was waste of space and to take up the ancient roots of a Mage that followed your bloodline.

I've been playing a Nord who is a member of a rich, noble clan from the Imperial City. The clan are die-hard supporters of the Imperials. Hjrondir (My Nord's name, just going to use for an example) was betrothed to (A marriageable Nord of your choosing, must live in Imperial-controlled city) However, Hjrondir thought the Imperials were cowards, and was also the only worshipper of Talos in the family.
Hjrondir's own brother then reported his religion to the Thalmor, and they came one night to arrest him. Hjrondir managed to escape but now had to live in exile. He decided to flee into Skyrim to find his fiancé, but he was caught by the Imperials, along with Ulfric, and we know the rest.
So gameplay wise, you must get bounty in all Imperial-sided cities by assaulting (not murdering) someone. From there, you have to marry the "fiancè." Until you do so, you cannot:
•Wear armor that is not hide
•Use spells or use weapons better than iron quality. If using a bow, you may only use the hunting bow with iron arrows.
•Complete quests, only miscellaneous objectives
•Get money from sources that are not woodcutting, smithing, alchemy, or selling hides/meat/pelts and food
Once you are married to the fiancé, you are free to do all those; but you still cannot:
•Join the Imperial Legion
•Clear your bounty in Imperial cities (You may clear your bounty in Stormcloak cities and imperial cities that become Stormcloak)
•Buy a home in an Imperial city
•Use fast travel or wait (Carriages are fine)
You must also have the HUD off, not use the in-game map, eat a breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and sleep like a normal person

A female orc character who is going to be forced to marry another clan chief. If this were a Disney film the idea would be that you sneak off in the night. If you want to be more exciting you can act like a real orc and start a violent fight with the Chief. Make sure you don't do too much damage before he starts to fight back. If others run to defend him then fight them too (if you want).
Alternatively you could wage war against the other strongholds.
Be an Altmer and get some Thalmor robes. If your playing on PC you could use a code to get several Altmer soldiers to follow you. Alternatively you could sneak into Stormcloak areas and attempt to assassinate people.
I haven't played it myself yet, but in Hearthfire you can make your own house. You could pretend it's a shop or inn. This would require a great deal of using your imagination though; unless you play on PC in which case you can probably spawn people in your building.

I've been doing a travelling merchant, I chose to be a redguard because of dreadlocks, but you can pretty much be any race.
I decided to be a merchant of "some reputable influence" which basically means, I'm signed on with the legion, done enough of the thieves guild to be Maven's pet, be thane of at least one hold.
I do deals with all the skooma and moon sugar traders but I go under the guise of a "Respectable enchantment and potion merchant"
Though you could pretty much do anything, for example you could be a shady dealer, and walk around with a thug everywhere, or a poor smith wandering around selling his wares to anyone who'll look at them or even mix it up.
I usually roll with a mace, gauntlets, boots and telvanni robes. Just because it looks hella extravagant and fits with the whole magical salesman thing I have going on.
If you're playing merchant, always roll with a "bodyguard" just because it fits the RP some much better, even better if it's a mercenary that you pay for.
signatures are for losers.

That actually sounds pretty fun Daho. Especially if you live in a built house from hearthfire. Forge, Alchemy and Enchanting table and no shop near by (apart from the town that your near haha)
Dec 13, 13 at 5:19pm ^re: Roleplay ideas?
RatedRViper it is hell fun!
My Hearthfire house is largely unfurnished so I use the house in Raven Rock, which makes me feel like I'm importing goods.
signatures are for losers.

Daho, yeah. i started it on my Nord (he was lvl 40) so i had the money, bought and furnished all houses in heathfire and then started smithing, enchanting etc. Travelling from Falkreath to places like Solitude and even Solstheim. Im a two handed warrior so i hired an Archer to help long distance

My still favourite is this:
As I come up with a weird background of a young Nord maid being gang-raped by Rieklings, now in her twenties, she seeks not a revenge, but rather redemption. That means she eventually gets strong enough to go into, say, Benkongerike, alone and with nothing on but the Spells, and murder everyone inside with Shouts such as Soul Tear, and maybe getting a couple of Dead Thralls as well to serve as porters.
But, that is for background. For something better to be set upon, my character meets every NPC you could make a Follower, and equips them with the best possible armor and weapons with respect to their skills. This takes some time! The only thing I hardly can stand - when dismissed, a follower changes to default gear. Weapons remain, though. It is nice to see Uthgerd sitting by the table in Bannered Mare with Giant's Club floating behind.
To make things even more enjoyable, I never create items at a smithy, I rather get it as loot, or buy it, say, from Black Market, which sells Daedric enchanted items. That is random and really fascinating. Serana gets loot from her dead father, someone dear gets Miraak's stuff (Marcurio?), there is this supposedly tough Ebony Warrior with good loot, and - everyone gets unique weapon!!!
My new role play is this. Become a Werewolf. Get access to Raven Rock. Find Majni (I am extatic each time she sniffs me). Buy all Rings of Werewolf. return to Skyrim. Start living as Werewolf. That is, to hell with all quests, just enjoy the call of your blood. Hunt to feed every now and again, hunt with a bow for game when not in Beats Form. I love to find an abandoned shack or camp where I can sleep over my satisfied blood lust, eat some raw meat, then turn to Werewolf and beat the living daylights out of some Forsworn. It is so self-satisfying, not to depend on any clothing or weapons, spells, enchantments, or potions. Not even having a house.
When you can get no further, you can become a Vampire Lord. Oooooh, that is evil.... I myself do not do that.

Dec 19, 13 at 11:32am ^re: Roleplay ideas?
You know what?
Im tired of travelling thru cold places I want a cool roleplay, so..
Im a bard, a high or low society, your call i will explain, so, you will be a nobody to a somebody, you will be famous in Solitude your homeplace.
Join bard college do all quests, be famous, be rich
Avoid different races, like khajit,argons or orcs
To be famous and rich you need high speech and a profession for profit
You can be evil, but you cant be caught or get knowed by the "wait i know you " squad
Fancy cloth it can be enchanted for speech, sneak, and your offensive way, i like 1dagger and cross bow

So, I've got quite a nice roleplaying going on with my female Nord warrior. It's not extensive roleplaying (eating regularly, realistic carry weight etc), but I'm planning on doing it in some time, I just have to get used to the whole system, as it's the first time I'm playing Skyrim this way.
Basically, her name is Katherine and she is from Falkreath Hold. She is that kind of honorable knight, always looking for the correct solution and trying to reduce the casualties in a fight. She got caught by the Imperials while trying to cross the border, running after the murderer of her older brother.
So, I started her like that, the honorable lady, killing bandits, assassins and thieves. I didn't steal, pickpocket or lie, nor did I try to bribe or persuade anyone to do something immoral. But when I started Waking Nightmare (Vaermina), I had this idea to play her as a Daedric champion.
In a nutshell, her personality remains unchanged until she equips a Daedric artifact (in this case, the Skull of Corruption). The image of Vaermina talking to her and entering her mind corrupted her, and she loses a little bit of that personality every time a Daedric Prince talks or interacts with her.
The rules are:
- when a Daedric artifact is obtained, it can never leave the inventory. A possible solution to the coexistence of this rule and the realistic carry weight rule is that the artifacts are stored in her mind by the corresponding prince, and materializes themselves when she uses them. Not very lore-friendly, but it was the only thing I could think about;
- when a Daedric quest is obtained, I must finish it before accepting any other quests, including misc objectives. Even talking to people is forbidden, the exception being when the person is essential to the quest (like Nelacar in Azura's quest). It emulates the Daedra controlling her mind, clouding her vision of everything but the task at hand;
- when a Daedric summoning day arrives, I must summon that Daedra and celebrate its day. Seeing as this can't be done in the game, I usually utilize that Daedra's artifact in my house, incurring a berserk that is emulated by a two-hour wait. If done outside the house, there is no emulation, and I use the artifact to attack any targets that may appear, including NPCs that serve some purpose. If I don't have a Daedra's artifact, or didn't make contact with that Daedra, there is no need to summon it. Forms of celebration include killing undead with the Dawnbreaker, reading the Oghma Infinium, using the Wabbajack, wearing any Daedrc equipment etc;
- I plan on using a random number generator to determine which artifact will materialize next, and when will that happen. Berserks occur every time an artifact is used, and have a duration of 1 minute;
- each time an artifact is obtained, Katherine's personality will worsen. She may be prone to stealing, pickpocketing of killing innocents for profit, and even joining the immoral guilds. She may lie to people more often, treat them with disrespect, get into fights, drink, ignore pleas for help etc.
She can avoid the berserks and the bad personality by praying at an altar or using an Amulet of the Divines. Praying will prevent her from being under the Daedra's control for 24 hours, while using and amulet lasts for 12 hours, at which point the Daedra will break the amulet and regain control over her. While under the blessing of a Divine, the following rules are followed:
- she can't complete or make progress in Daedric quests;
- she can't utilize any Daedric artifacts;
- she returns to her old self, helping people out, being nice to them, not committing any crimes;
- she can interact with her family. I don't have one yet, but this rule will be followed when I do.
So, what do you think? It's a bit complex, but I'm finding it very interesting to play.

I enjoy Skyrim, I really do. I love roleplaying as well. Here is a sample of one of my many Role-play Scripts.
His name was Tiber. At least that's what his former wife called him. Tiberius Decadus was his real name. He was a drifter, never staying in one place for too long. But that all changes when he meets Durak, of the Dawnguard. Anyone who knew anyone in Skyrim, knew who Tiber was. A loner. A mercenary. A killer. An animal.
(P.S. This was Greatly influenced by Wolverine, and some of his background stories, but not all of them. I used "Animated Wolverine Claws" for this so Appreciate the Modder for this sick mod.)
Durak was sent to find Tiber, somewhere near or within Whiterun. Isran knew very well about Tiber's "unique" talents. "Be careful around him. Don't move to sudden, careful you don't make him angry. We need his help. The vampire threat grows with each passing day, and there are to few of us to fight them yet." Durak replied, "He wont help." "Yes he will. His blood will call out to him. He will heed the call of the hunt."
Durak did find him and recruited him, where as Isran gave him his first order. Dimhallow Crypt. That night, before his quest was to begin, He had the same nightmare he always had. Killing his wife. Or how others would have seen it, ending her suffering. He repeated his every morning ritual. waking up with beads of sweat rolling down his forehead, screaming and howling in the wind.
Skipping forward, He met a fellow creature of the night, but one he was "supposed" to kill. Her name was Serana. He reunited her with her Father, Lord Harkon. Eventually she ran away and found Tiber at Fort Dawnguard, where Isran had interrogated her. Anyways we all know the story from there. Until one night, when Serana couldn't hold back anymore. She confessed her love to Tiber and they made love. That same night his wife asked him what he was doing. He then saw an image of his wife's true killer, Aeran Silerius. Immortal just as Tiber was, they had been fighting for other two thousand years. Tiber had given up, telling Aeran to leave him be, let him live his life and that he to do the same. Aeran disagreed and, two-hundered years later had killed Tiber's wife.
After finding Valerica, Serana's Mother, They left the soul Cairn, where Tiber caught a scent that had him fearing for Serana's life. He turned to face Aeran, and told serana to leave, and return to the fort. They engaged in a long battle that had been boiling for centuries. Aeran had told Tiber that it was Harkon that was gracious enough to tell him where Tiber was. He then fled to return to Harkon.
With All scrolls in hand and the location of Auriel's Bow, they moved against Harkon. After claiming the bow, they marched on Castle Volkihar, where the Lord of Vampires rested. Leading the main defense, Was Aeran. Again they fought on the bridge as the battalions watched. Isran gave the signal and the real fight began. Tiber wanted to save Aeran for last, so he slipped around and found Harkon. Him and Serana took down the vampire together, and the battle was "won". Tiber and Aeran fought from the lowest dungeon to the highest tower. It was there that Tiber impaled Aeran through the throat and threw him down to the crashing waves. His battle was won.
Eventually, Tiber settled his heart and laid the animal to rest. He flows through the endless glass of time with his new found love. So passes the story and The Werewolf and the Vampire.

Skyrim rp character: Thorek Nightinstoke
Thorek Nightinstoke was a young nord women aged 14 who lived in Cyrodill. She took constant abuse by the Imperials because of her race and her tendency not to fit in. His parents Argis (mum) and Joleif (dad) were poor merchants barely scraping by. Argis decided to steal from the imperials and she robbed them blind. Seething with rage and frustration the imperials snuck into Argis' shop at night and set everything ablaze. When Argis woke up she stumbled around in a stupor and eventually she ran into the imperials. Argis pulled out a knife and killed their first born sun. A guard in the area arrested her and sentenced her to life imprisonment. Thorek was then tormented by argonians, imperials, khajjit and even orcs. Joleif was drowning in horror, pain and terror all at once. His money...disappeared. His wife...dead. Will to live...gone. He decided to travel away from Cyrodill into Morrowind, to retreat from an onslaught of torment. Thorek had always hated dark elves and she soon grew restless at looking at the dark ruddy features of the dark elves and she drew up the courage to confront her dad. She demanded to go to Skyrim, where nords truly belong. Joleif thought for a moment and looked at his now 16 year old daughter. He knew that he could put Thoreks beautiful looks and clever tounge to good use. And he told her that they were to travel to Skyrim. On the journey Joleif was planning a guide through all the books that he had aquired. The guide was to help show Thorek the little nooks and crannies of being a travelling merchant. Through writing this little book Joleif gained knowledge and knowledge equals power. He had learned of ancient nordic ruins, dwemer ruins and dragon burial sites scattered across all of Skyrim. With his new thirst for knowledge Joleif grew distant from his daughter and Thorek knew something was wrong. When Joleif was asleep Thorek searched through his guide and at first found a lot of help for her but as she read on she discovered that her own father was going to use her for money and for power. She ignored the matter at the time but as one of Skyrims mountains drew ever nearer Joleif became increasingly cautious of who looked at him, and how they looked at him. But Thorek was not stupid and using her beautiful looks and her evergrowing knowledge she asked a spy who was friendly to joleif to see what her father was up to. Thorek waited a day then another for the spy to return but he never did. And as Skyrims border was within a few leagues of her carriage she noticed a large band of men wearing an armour she had never seen before. And a few hours later she would never forget the armour of that band of stormcloaks. Her father was drunk when the legion attacked and he yelled out words of abuse to the legion and so he as everyone else in the cart was taken to Helgen. But on the way Joleif's book was taken by a legionnaire and he then struck the legionairre who killed him, leaving 17 year old Thorek parentless, penniless and a hatred to imperials and the empire. She managed to steal a few pages of the book back, enough to see her through her beginning weeks. She has always followed her own in the long run tenents;
1: Never grow friendly with imperials or a legionairre.
2: Avenge her family
3: Grow wealthy and prosperous via caravanecaravaneering 4: Join the stormcloak rebellion
5: Expand her knowledge
6: Learn the ways of speech and learn the ways of seducing people
7: Never be unsuspecting of others.
8: Have the ability of seduction, calming, and infuriating others.

For my above post, this is a way to get your character to look like mine;
Jul 20, 15 at 2:55pm ^re: Roleplay ideas?
my characters name is Lady Lilija Stormcloak, she is the daughter of Ulfric. Throughout her childhood she lived in safety behind the Jarls walls, from an early age she learnt to use a axe and shield to even a bow from her fathers soldiers. Although an excellent warrior Ulfric never allowed her to fight for his cause for fear that she may be killed, a target for the imperials. Basically after Helgen she decides not to return to her fathers city as the freedom outside the walls is too great. She will travel skyrim conquering enemies and taking out imperial patrols with a trusty companion, until it is time for her to return to windhelm, she will join the storm cloaks masked as just another nord woman without her fathers knowing and fight alongside him.
She worships talos and doesn't care much for treasure as her father can grant her most of what she desires anyway - a lot of people attempt to kill her looking for reward but she gladly accepts a challenge now that she is free from her fathers soldiers.
