'Ill met by moonlight' - Killing Sinding glitch.

So when I was doing the Ill met by moonlight mission I looked at my quests and it said that I had to kill Sinding (right after I had killed the White Stag and talked to Hircine). There wasn't a quest marker but I remembered that Sinding was in the Falkreath Jail so I go there and kill him using a bow and arrows through the bars on the cell door. I then get a quest marker telling me to go to the Bloated Man's Grotto and I talk to a hunter there right before he dies. Then I look at my quest and it still tells me to kill Sinding so I go back the Falkreath Jail but since I had already killed him it just showes a quest marker over his dead body, with no way of me getting to him.

He never escaped his cell, I killed him whilst he was a werewolf in his cell. The body is just lying there.

It must have glitched then. Hopefully you've been saving, go to a point before you approached him in his cell.

I have got a save back that would allow me to take the damned ring off but another glitch that occurred when I started playing my character is that Aela is somewhere, leaving me stuck with her shield on me. And then it somehow duplicated and on the character I am forced to carry 2 of her shields.

I am to the conclusion that the reason for the Aela glitch is that when I went to Whiterun for the first time I did not walk through the gate, rather I got caught stealing off a guard and taken to the city.
