Markarth Museum

i got the key to go into this and decided it would be fun to steal everything in the museum. I did this without a problem (except the locked display cases) i went into the back room and a guard came at me and starting swinging, i ended him and thought i would now have a bounty for killing the guard. I went back into the main room and the guards didnt attack, they acted normal.

My question is it possible to kill all the guards in the museum without getting a bounty, i doubt i can pick all the locks without being seen. Any help?

well i had a go at opening all the display cases, i did all except 4 as i got caught but i was able to use my thane exuse. The museum is all bare now lol, wouldnt mind geting the rest of the cases, was able to level up 1 in sneak and 4 in lockpicking!

Since it's part of a questline, the museum guards probably have a seperate faction to the normal Markarth guards. I'd say go for it, and if you prefer stealing everything you see anyways, the bounty would be easy to make back right?

i dunno about that. i was in markarth doing one of the quests for getting to the bottom of the whole forsworn thing, and when i went into a shrine to talk to that woman who was murdered by the guards, i had no choice but to fight back. soon after, the entire city was after me.

im telling you, the amount of rabbit legs my guy can go through just doesnt sound anatomically possible.

Hehe, going for food heals? I'm trying that out myself . My Redguard's an alcoholic...
Anyways, I believe the quest being covered in here is part of the Thieves Guild questline, and the guards in the Markarth museum are more than likely the same faction as the Mercs you find further inside if I'm not mistaken. I'm half tempted to look it up now.

i sell food, they dont bring up your health that much, i much rather make healing potions and use them, a simple healing potion uses a butterfly wing and a purple mountian flower, and they are everywhere

thats what happend to me at the start when i was in whiterun, i kept selling things and the traders would be bunkrupt ans i didnt know where the traders were in the other capitols

haha im the same, anything that isnt nailed down i take, ive just started stealing stuff. There are some things you can just take from Balathor i think his name is in Whiterun and sell the stuff back to him!
