The main quests
Skyrims main quest was good but I think oblivions was better it felt like a whole better story but skyrims was really just simple I think everyone was able to know what was going to happen at the end I don't mean going to sovengaurd I mean defeating alduin and there wasn't much twists in skyrims main quests but in oblivion u where treated like a slave most of the time it was your character that had to do the hardest parts of the game but I guess that's what made it better there was always something fun or unexpected in the main quest of oblivion like at the end when meruinsdagon (sorry I really don't know how to spell but I'm sure u know who I'm talking about) but when he came to cyridil it was pretty exciting and then Martin turns into the dragon and defeats him
Score 1-0 to oblivion
Both games had really good guilds so it will be hard to say I will split it into each different guild
I found the theives guild really interesting and fun though skyrims theives guild wasn't really about sneaking or being theives it just had a much Better story
Oblivions theives guild was really sneaky and had u stealling all the time but I felt like the theives guild was really too boring and u where just a bitch that had to steal everything for them so I have to give this one to skyrim
Oblivion 1 skyrim 1
Mages guild/ college of winterhold
I tbh love to have a mage charecter but I found both of the guilds really boring I guess once again skyrim had a better story to it but then it wasn't really a story the oblivion mages guild was so annoying at the start when u had to get a recommendation from every one but at the end of the mages guild quests u could get into the arcane university and that had a lot of cool stuff but I have to give this one to skyrim
Oblivion 1 skyrim 2
Dark brother hood
This time I found skyrims dark brother hood really boring I mean the rewards where good but the story just wasn't good at all I found oblivions to be much more exciting and tbh oblivions dark brother hood where much more assassiny than skyrims the one quest I loved the most from the dark brother hood in oblivion was the one where u had to go in the house and kill off all the guests I saved and replayed that quest all the time so I have to give this one to oblivion
Oblivion 2 skyrim 2
At first the fighters guild had you going about like a slave but when u get a higher rank u get into the story trying to find out stuff about the Blackwood company and it becomes much more exciting in skyrim the companions are kinda just the same but then the story turns when u can turn into a werewolf but I didn't like the companions so I have to give this one to oblivion
Oblivion 3 skyrim 2
That's all if the like guilds oblivion did also have the arena but skyrim doesn't have anything like and but skyrim did have the war where u could choose a side but they are too different to compare them
Oblivions cities where much more interesting than skyrims plus the houses in oblivion where better skyrims cities where really dull and everyone seemed to be unhappy but in oblivion they seemed to have a story behind every charecter and the market district in the imperial city from oblivion was amazing it had a shop for everything skyrim had a market district in whiterun and windhelm but they just didn't have everything your charecter needed so for cities I have to give it to oblivion
Oblivion 4 skyrim 2
Both games had a hole arsenal of spells but I think oblivion had a spell for near egnough everything it even had spells to damage npcs attributes like personality or athletics wich is good skyrim on the other hand had a really good spell using system by being able to control touch spells much more which was handy but I enjoyed using a two handed weapon and being able to cast a spell so I have to again give this one to oblivion
Oblivion 5 skyrim 2
Adventure and the world
Oblivions world was really green and happy but I still think skyrims world was better I mean the adventuring of the woods and mountains I think it is better to not use fast travel and explore the world. Skyrim has lots if random encounters and caves towers and more which is y I have to say skyrim wins this one
Oblivion 5 skyrim 3
There isn't much to say about the weapons they are pretty much they same I think it is harder to get the really good weapons so it is a good challenge to hunt the weapons down oblivion does have more so that's y I'm giving this one to oblivion
Oblivion 6 skyrim 3
I like the armour in oblivion but it just looks weird I usually just wear robes
Skyrims armour has lots of details and looks nicer so I think skyrim wins
Oblivion 6 skyrim 4
Clothes casual and royal
I think skyrims clothes are just plain but there is lots of clothes in oblivion I have a whole chest full of clothes just to casually walk the streets or go shopping a so I think oblivion wins
Oblivion 7 skyrim 4
So I think oblivion is a better game there is much more I can go through but it would just be a waste of time

the gfx in Oblivion werent as detailed as Skyrim allowing Bethesda to focus on lots more.
Look at Skyrims gfx. You got *bleep*in Ants moving on tree stumps! Skyrims gfz were as detailed as they could get for these consoles. Next gen is gunna be a lot better and a lot more advanced.

Ok so I must first say, yes Oblivions ability to have spell casting with any mixture of weapons (two handed, one & shield, unarmed, bow, staff) is far superior, to a dual wielding system, granted you can shout, but mind you that odds are we won't be dragon born in the next game (probably).
Oblivion had heavily unkempt fields full of weeds, and skyrim had fancy texture.
My recent knowledge of DLC being not canon, has made me rethink purchasing any dlc for an eso game ever. Your hero from oblivion, might not be Sheogorath. The only true lore you play is the main story everything else isn't important to a new story. So with that said, yes I enjoyed much of the extra content, and will always.
Until they allowed reseting skills you couldn't max out all trees in skyrim. This bothered me a lot, and even now it still does, it's an rpg how do you randomly drop an entire skill? And easy power leveling can really mess up the challenge of this task anyways. As for power leveling sneak at start doesn't bother me, your losing more than you gain, if you have 100 sneak and are combat level 15-20 your enemy's are stronger with no way to defend yourself, however sneak in skyrim is overpowered and human npc's can't notice you even if you walk in front of them.
Oblivions skill system is way better, every level tier of 25, 50, 75, 100 you unlock something and this grants full easy access to everything, even though some level up much slower.
I actually came to this topic wondering which hero would win in a fight though. There must me a legending rule though. All restrictions apply, Dovakin can't cast spells with hands full, but can shout. Savior of Kavatch has potions, spells to walk on water, and yes May be faster and more nimble. If we throw Morrowind in yes this person can fly, so I don't think it's fair, and I believe there were teleportation scrolls, this is different from fast travel due to it actually taking a sum of time.
Ok I just wanted to hit a note, I played skyrim new save from time to time, random encounters really seemed - not random wild dragons would always appear in the same locations for me bears, giants, stendar, extra.
Oblivion however, had a schedule for npc's to be in a specific location a specific time each day. And sometimes in the month some npc's would travel to a different city, so unless you seemingly have always done the same things in a order you always do. It will seem the same. I recall going into a dungeon and almost dieing until a random Orc adventurer came in and saved me. The occasional imperial legion hard accidentally shooting the other one, both yelling that it's for the empire rand they should have paid the fine.
Lastly what noobed up Skyrim, simply not making silver, daedric, or enchanted weapons important to fighting ghosts. Normal iron shouldn't work.
But don't get me going on hand to hand, extremely disappointed. Morrowind, Oblivion, and Skyrim have been vastly different in this area, and I'm very disappointed in the turn it's making as it's always my primary melee.

Love how Morrowind inevitably got dragged in despite not being an option.

Yea Morrowind can't be tossed out, found this article on safari search with my phone, google on my desktop couldn't find this.
I've only recently been truly playing any of these. My older brother taught me how to exploit things. I tossed that play style out the door. And have been digging into Morrowind far more than the others.
But I keep trying Arena and for some reason keep getting stuck in loops so I'm lost. Downloaded Daggerfall but I haven't gotten it to run yet. One thing about Arena though, I enjoy that enemies still find you in castle walls at night.
But being that Bethesda is pretty much the only successful game franchise for single player games (arguable), please don't trade graphics for game mechanics. There's an entire fan base you gained from Skyrim, which is good. But don't live us stat nerds in a ditch like all others.
Just to put a point out, Vanilla WoW had advertised 14million players and the lasts time I checked during Cataclysm it was around 7million.
Skyrim is awesome, but it lost so much from traditional TES games, obviously there are worked in your game somebody will find, but attempting to simplify what your doing is not the always the best.

And here's how to get the most out of skyrim.
Never sneak or do any skills. You are now more powerful than almost everything you run into, don't wear armor just enchanted clothes. Congrats your level one and can win almost every fight.
Oh get a good follower who can lock pick and you'll be set for life. Don't intimidate or persuade, don't buy/sell you don't want to level speechcraft either.
Plan B: Shield Priest.
Simply level on blocking and healing. Any exploit to leveling is fine, don't get double heal perk until later, you heal twice as much, but now you technically only get half xp. Once you can heal stamina and regen magica faster your good to go. And once you get shield charge simply do it while sneaking, you drop down to zero stamina and keep going faster than a horse. And nobody gets in your way
