Dawnguard Playtime?

Is Dawnguard as long as Skyrim? One questline or multiple? I don't want to get it only to have a few hours of playtime and it's over. Thanks for input.

It's more playstyle add ons than story add ons. So quality over quantity.
If you want new ways to play in combat, then get Dawnguard. However if you want multiple quest lines and story value, then I wouldn't recommend it.

Dawnguard is only like 15 extra quests, if that. So I'd say maybe 5 extra hours of game play, longer if you replay as the opposite side. It also adds more wild[meaning randomly placed] vampires and werewolves to the normal game's wilderness.

It is very awesome. I enjoyed every second of it.

I wish Werewolves could have played a bigger part in it though..

Yeah like may some secret faction of Werewolves fighting the vamps, ala Underworld.

They could have done something like; Lord Harkon makes a pact with a savage werewolf clan, and this werewolf clan would do hit and run attacks on caravans and smaller settlements around Skyrim[rumors would be spread through dialect with random NPCs and/or random encounters in the wilderness]. And in exchange for their loyalty, Harkon promises them a place in his new world, where a full blood moon conquers the sun. A place where werewolves could unite and be accepted[or at least overpower the weak], just like the vampires..

And playing as a Werewolf in the Dawnguard DLC could allow you to side with Harkon in a different way.. [join his werewolf clan and learn to bond with your new pack mates as you decimate Skyrim's forces, while Harkon readies his clan for an invasion of Tamriel when the prophecy is completed. Only when it's too late the werewolves realize they were doomed from the beginning when Harkon turns his back on their "pact," then you must lead the remainder of your pack to destroy Harkon once and for all, making a friend[serana] along the way too.]

Or you can see his fantasy for what it truly is and fight against Harkon. [help the Companions destroy the rabid pack that is spreading terrors of their beloved beast form. And through destroying the savage pack's alpha male, the Companions realize Harkon is a major threat to the existence of Skyrim.. This is when they join the Dragonborn in fighting the Volkihar Clan alongside the Dawnguard soldiers.]

Skjor and Kodlak die, you can cure yourself, Farkas and Vilkas, and if you somehow get Aela to die, than there'll be no more werewolves in the companions

I know I'm a little late too respond lol, but I think the remaining Companions would come to your aid whenever you asked it. I mean, you[the Dragonborn] come out of no where and help them a lot, and never ask for anything in return really.

Well they do pay you so its just like a job. You don't call your boss and ask him to help you if you're getting mugged or attacked
