In fact if you wanna bitch about not getting content, one of my favourite 360 games isn't even getting the extra content it gets on the PS3. At least the PS3 and PC ARE getting Dawnguard. You don't see me getting mega angry about it, just kinda shrug my shoulders and move on, it's not worth getting stressed or angry about.

We didnt didnt get all of the extra stuff for Oblivion either (mages tower etc) also thats 1 game the way i see it almost every game gets 360 exclusitivity for at least a month (not including this fast one pulled by microsoft paying off bethesda to not even mention or discuss the DLC release time)

We didn't get them because Oblivion was ported to PS3, it came out before the console's release.

But couldnt they just port the DLC aswell?

I don't know the ins and outs of it, but more than likely they were focusing on the next project/skyrim or they were coded heavily based on the xbox/pc versions of the game and wouldn't work on the ps3 without being completely rewritten, which is a huge amount of work.

I agree with Morrigan on the subject of Oblivion, as it was kind for them to ever port it into PS3, and I seem to remember the regular version of the PS3 version having Shivering Isles and / or Knights of the Nine as part of it. However with Dawnguard, it was promised for a month after the Xbox 360 version. When they give Xbox 360 A MONTH exclusivity, THAT'S IT, ANYTHING more, or less than that, without an announcement to say otherwise, is false advertisement. They advertised Dawnguard on Xbox 360, as a month earlier. Therefor all other forms of Dawnguard MUST be a month later for that NOT to be a lie. Was it a month later? No. Therefor it is a lie. Not a broken promise since there was no literal promise, however this was definitely a lie. EVERYONE has a right to complain about this, and if they want Dawnguard, and was denied it at it's announced time for their console, they SHOULD complain, and those complaints should be answered PROPERLY. So far, they've ignored the complaints with more hiding and mystery. At the point where not only are we being denied what was said to come, but they're also hiding everything, then people get angry, people WILL get angry, people have the right to get angry, and people should get angry.

I don't see what the big deal is.

Alright, Dawnguard won't be downloadable until the 1.7 update is installed, but who's to say it won't be released tomorrow? Unless Microsoft have booked exclusivity for that too, which I wouldn't be surprised.

The real problem (for PS3 users) is that we're not getting Patch 1.6. People could have a game-breaking bug and will only have it fixed at an "unspecified date", due to either Bethesda's laziness, Microsoft's purchasing of the market, or whatever reason Sony won't release it. Dawnguard may be legally able to be sold to PC and PS3 users and yet Sony will probably restrain it for to months for some Talos-knows-what reason. I wouldn't be surprised for a November release date.

It's time Bethesda recognises the existence of PS3 and releases patches and DLCs for the market that makes up a good % of their customers.

At least PC users only have Bethesda to wait on and 360 users have Uncle Gates to buy them their DLC. Probably with the money he charges them just for going online.

So yes, us PS3 users drew the short straw when choosing a console. Maybe we should all get PCs, then Bethesda would only have to worry about one platform and nobody would have a neglectful parent company to beg for DLCs and bug fixes.

I think I made my point.

PC > Xbox as far as I'm concerned. I'm sick of PC gaming getting shafted in favour, of all things, a crap console like the Xbox. TES was a stable of PC gaming for more than 10 years, but now it's us getting the short end of the stick? It's moves like this that really piss me off.

The reason the Playstation 3 version lacked much of the DLC for Oblivion was because on launch the Playstation 3 wasn't optimised for DLC. The Cross Media Bar at the time used far too much system memory and as such only the game could run. As the system got older Sony updated the console via firmware downloads that freed up some of the memory the Cross Media Bar used and DLC was viable, at this point some of the content did hit Playstation 3. Though with Oblivion it wasn't Bethesda's fault it was very much a hardware limitation.

Just because Microsoft has a 30 day exclusivity contract doesn't mean the DLC HAS to be released for everyone else at the end of the 30 days. They can release whenever they damn well want to.

Also, I'm sure the Xbox 360 has more than 1/3 of Skyrim's population playing it. I would argue it's probably more like 1/2 if not 2/3. PC has 1/3 at least and PS3 has whatever is left. I'm not certain on those figures, but that sounds right to me.

I don't get the anger over this. It's par for the course. 360 gets the best treatment out of most developers and the PS3 gets shit on. That's how it's always been. Don't like it? You've had years to get an 360. Can't afford the $150? Oh well.

Yeah I can afford it...I'm just not going to waste my money on a console that I don't want. I have tons of games for my playstation that aren't even available to xbox, why would I give those up for one game? yeah i know it took me 3 months to reply, but I actually have a life outside of neoseeker.
