Werewolf vs Vampire Lord. or Balanced vs Unbalanced.

So, I finally went through and maxed out both perk trees and one thing stands out:
The Vampire Lord is really, REALLY unbalanced. It's almost like a God mode.
I find this really strange, since, by contrast, the Werewolf is really well balanced. Don't get me wrong, a werewolf can still be very powerful. Two things, however, differentiate it from the Vampire Lord:
1. It doesn't get AS powerful.
and
2. You need to work to get there.
To illustrate what I mean, lets first look at what the Vampire lord gets that the werewolf doesn't. The biggest thing the vampire Lord has is a ranged attack. A very powerful ranged attack at that, which also restores health. The werewolf is forced to stick to melee. Now, they're very strong in melee, but a powerful ranged character (i.e. Dragon Priests) can do a lot of damage to them while they close the distance. When you also consider the healing properties of the Vampire's ranged attack against the werewolf having to feed to heal and it gets even more one sided.
The Vampire also gets a number of abilities that allow it to escape harm (mistform, bats, etc.). These are, of course, to help it stay out of melee range, but the werewolf doesn't get anything to help it get into melee range other than a slightly increased sprint speed.
The Vampire also gets nighteye, leaving the Werewolf to blunder around in the dark (which is stupid, really. Why the hell don't they have night eye. I'd even take it being always on.).
Another reason the Werewolf is more balanced is what abilities it does get, it has to work for.
When you first become a Vampire Lord, you are told the only way to increase your perks is to consume "mortal lives." This is untrue. You can absorb ANYTHING and it counts towards your perks. The werewolf can only increase the perks by eating, and can ONLY eat playable races. Until, that is, you get a perk at the end of a long chain that allows you to eat almost anything, with the exception of draugr, skeletons, and (strangely enough) vampires.
Additionally, the werewolf can only transform for a limited amount of time and only once per day. Once you get the Ring of Hircine, the Once a Day limit is lifted, but can still only transform for a limited amount of time. Furthermore, you cannot manually exit the form, you have to wait until it wears off. The Vampire on the other hand can enter and exit the form at anytime, and as many times as it wants.
Finally, the werewolf has 3 abilities it can have on the "Powers" button. To use any but the starting one, however, you need to complete the

questline and then get quests to retrieve an item for each ability. Even once you have these abilities, however, you can only access one at a time and to change which one you have access to you have to return to the

Underforge.
By comparison, the vampire lord can unlock its abilities right away through the perks menu and (once unlocked) can access any of them at any time.
This is just silly. Why is one form so well balanced, while the other is basically God mode? Did they really look at this and say, "yep, this looks like it won't break gameplay at all."
To be honest, I'm having much more fun being a werewolf than a vampire lord. It's just too easy as a vamp. As powerful as the werewolf is I still feel threatened against powerful foes and am seriously disadvantaged against the undead, since I can't heal from them. Vamp Lord just kills everything.
Does anyone else think they did a really bad job balancing the Vampire Lord?
re: Werewolf vs Vampire Lord. or Balanced vs Unbalanced.
It's balanced by the shit you put up with as a normal vampire like diminished/non regenerating stats when outside in daytime and weakness to fire (which might I add is quite common among mages).
Werewolves don't have any innate side effects and they can scare off anyone they don't feel like mauling at the time which makes werewolf the perfect method of assassinating tougher targets in cities.
Werewolf brothers > Gargoyles.
Plus they can put out quite a bit more DPS than vampires with bestial strength upgrades.
Ironically, Vampire Lords are much better combatants when fighting outside rather than in linear caves becuase there is usually much more room to maneuver outside. Werewolves still excel at both.
Werewolves may not have the defensive capabilities of VLs or the versatility, but they have their niche like all other forms of combat. A ranger or mage may find werewolf very useful for compensating for their lack of melee proficiency. .

re: Werewolf vs Vampire Lord. or Balanced vs Unbalanced.
The werewolf sprint attack can one-hit kill a Forsworn Briarheart with all the strength perks, apart from using vampiric grip to blast them off of a cliff, is there any other attack that can one shot them.? Vampire Lord does good damage with during combat healing and versatility. VL = Versatility Werewolf has massive burst damage coupled with combos and a quick power attack that can fling most enemies. Werewolf = High burst

Honestly the werewolf is fairly overpowered "no sleep bonus? whoop-tee-*bleep*ing-doo" Paired with the fact that the can knock most enemies on their ass in one swipe. And dont have the debuffs that the vampires have in daylight have you ever tried to fight an ancient dragon whilst in sunlight? They are not balanced they are far from it.
re: Werewolf vs Vampire Lord. or Balanced vs Unbalanced.
IMO, Vampire Lords and Werewolves are pretty well balanced.
Werewolves have the advantage in speed and huge melee damage, at the cost of low defenses. They're like Glass Cannons, dealing HUGE damage to all enemies, but are unable to take much damage in return. They do get a great ability to summon werewolves of equal power to your own, which is great if you're fighting large groups of enemies. Werewolves are at a large disadvantage to ranged enemies like archers and mages. But they can get rid of this weakness with the correct abilities. Werewolves = Melee Glass Cannons
Vampire are very powerful, but it comes at a big price. They still get a big weakness to fire, which is going to be bad if you're fighting a dragon that uses fire attacks. Also, when out in the sun, they're badly weakened. Also, they still suffer from the vampire stage effect. They're still super powerful though. Vampire Lords = God Mode with a price.
