Dragon's Dogma VS Skyrim

So the other day me and my dad were having an argument, which is better, Skyrim or dragon's dogma. I said Skyrim, my dad says Dragon's Dogma. I'd say that Skyrim is better, because it had much better graphics, more of an open-world type of feel, and it is more realistic. I know that Skyrim definitely wasn't too realistic, but it was a lot more than dragon's dogma. You throw someone off a cliff, blood pours out of their head but apparently they can get back up as if you just did absolutely nothing in dd. Plus if you hurt guards, they don't do anything, not try to arrest you, not even say anything to you. So you guys tell me what you think.

Skyrim is definitely better. Dragon's Dogma has better combat imo.

DD combat and Bestiary is better and harder, but Skyrim has a better world, graphics, and stories. So they are pretty equal if you ask me...

I have both and I like them both.

Pretty much everything Ded Valve said, plus:

World Building: Skyrim. Bethesda's ability to craft a history rich world is generally unrivaled. DD's world is...interesting, but shallow. You can literally spend hours just reading the books and histories in Skyrim. It gives a sense of place and time that DD just doesn't.

For myself, I prefer Skyrim, because it is exactly the type of game I like to play.

I prefer Skyrim.

But Dogma's combat and enemies are pretty badass, other than that, it's not that interesting to me.

Not really. Both games have the same story, tbh. Same mechanics, but DD has better combat.

DD may have been shunned by the critics, but just cause' a critic says a game is shit, don't mean it's actually shit.

Tbh, DD won me over. It topped my list of RPGs in 2 hours. Unforgiving combat mixed with epic over-the-top insane combat mechanics are good enough for me. Skyrim is soooo easy Even with the challenges like 'Helgen onward', or setting the game to master, or both, too easy for me. And it has less replay value, and Oblivion is better, really

Tough call. I play and enjoy both on a fairly regular basis.

I tip my head to Skyrim though, because of the lore. I'm a history buff among other things and just reading and learning about the past or the world is extremely interesting to me.

Dragons Dogma plays very well and unlike Skyrim the enemies never get that easy even near the end. Likewise Skyrim actually makes you feel powerful at the end but is easy because of it.

Both don't follow a story and you can ignore both main missions to a point. I do like the Alduin stuff better than 'hey my heart was ripped out of my chest and I have to kill the dragon that did it story but then don't tell you anything else'.

Level, Art, Enemy design definitely go to Skyrim, much better than Dogma's very small pool of enemies a tough as they are and lackluster level design. The fighting is better in DD though.

Has your father ever actually played Skyrim and have you ever actually played DD? Both of you play them for a bit and make your own opinion.
