Sword, Axe or Mace

I know that sword is faster but the weaker and less stagger and mace is stronger and more stagger but slower,
but which is best regardless to perks?

I use Maces, the speed increase on swords and axes isn't really that good compared to the increased damage you get with maces

Also, the bleeding perk for axes needs a damage buff.

Regardless of perks, swords come out the best by the numbers. Slight advantage in DPS, longer reach, and less stamina for power attacks. I like handaxes, good compromise, hard hitting, but quick enough to get multiple strikes in. Maces are for getting 'er done in 1 strike. If you're sneaking, and taking advantage of the 6x (12 with the Shrouded gloves) multiplier, definitely Mace.

But seriously, it's not that much of an investment to try all 3, and see what you like. None of them are clearly superior, especially if you eliminate the perks. I just boils down to personal preference.

Yeah, bows are where it's at.
I like swords, but after using maces I can say that they are extremely underrated. I assume an axe is in the middle for speed and damage so that would probably be the best.
