After much speculation, the MMO version of The Elder Scrolls role-playing series has officially been announced. Developed by ZeniMax Online Studios, The Elder Scrolls Online will allow players to quest across the entire continent of Tamriel 1000 years before the events of The Elder Scrolls V, which includes the provinces of Cyrodiil (where The Elder Scrolls IV was set) and Skyrim (setting of The Elder Scrolls V).

Not many specifics are available yet, but according to Game Informer you'll be able to play as one of three factions, take part in open-world player versus player combat in the province of Cyrodiil and vie for control of the throne of the Emperor.

Even before Bethesda released Skyrim we all knew that DLC packs would be appearing a few months later. Today, Bethesda confirmed the first of those packs, however, there’s a big “but” for anyone who doesn’t own Microsoft’s console.

The good news is, Skyrim is getting its first DLC, which will be called Dawnguard. Bethesda has only released the image you see above to confirm its existence. And now here’s the but: Dawnguard is only coming to the Xbox 360 this summer.

Bethesda has promised more detail about the new content at E3, which starts on June 5. Most concerning is the fact this only seems to be for the Xbox 360, at least initially. That makes little sense, especially when you consider the healthy following the game has on PC and the uproar caused by poor performance and bugs on the PS3 by the thousands who bought it for Sony’s machine.

Oh god *bleep*ing no, god damnit. No one wants an Elder Scrolls online.

So it's true...Xbox is getting more dlc?! Tbh that's bullcrap! I knew ps3 players and PC players were gonna be slow getting it but, I've bought skyrim TWICE for PC and PS3! Are they seriously trying to tell me 'thank you! We now don't care'? Coz that's how I feel ATM.

How is that "getting more DLC"? It's just getting the DLC first before PS3 and PC...you remember those days where Sony and Microsoft used to fight over exclusivity on games and DLC right? Same thing here except this time the PC isn't getting favoured first

Just calm down and be patient...it sucks but deal with it, that's all you can do.

Yup it says 360 this summer...doesn't mean it won't be released on the other platforms a month after though or in the fall...just means it will take longer than expected.

PS3 usually lucks out on all DLC...except for when it came to Fallout 3 where they were lucky enough to get all 5 (or 4 pieces of the DLC) 6 months after the 360 and PC

I suspect the same here...furthermore there have been numerous amounts of things that have released for something that were "xbox exclusive"...Bioshock being a great example, PS3 code was written, Microsoft jumped onto the exclusive contract...Xbox and PC versions were released...1 year later Bioshock released for PS3.

My point is...don't panic until the full details of Dawnguard are released

edit: Oh and furthermore, so far everywhere I look I am seeing comments stating that the PC and PS3 will get it 30 days after the 360...of course Beth Soft have yet to confirm I believe but it would be highly stupid of them to turn their back on the PC fanbase regardless of them having mod support

im not totally bothered my point is, beth should be quick to squash rumors like this. i have been through most of the steam workshop so the moment dawngaurd comes out i guarantee someone will me better use of it through the creation kit

I don't care about TESOnline at all, and I've already moved on from Skyrim. It just didn't captivate me like Oblivion did. I may get Skyrim again once the inevitable Game of the Year Edition (or whatever it'll be called) rolls out, but until then I won't spare a thought for Skyrim...
