Favorite Enchantment

Absorb Stamina to power your Power Attacks. For Spellswords, Absorb Magika. Everbody else, Absorb Health, just because. Damage is great, and more damage is just as better, but Damage, and Character Support is where it's at.

Elemental; Shock on bows, because Magika is going to be your primary threat. Melee, Fire because it's MOAR Damage!i! Frost? Pch! Too much is resistant to it, and the Stamina drain that goes with it. Better go with Absorb Stamina...

Enchantment is so situational. No 1 weapon enhancer works best on all weapons, for all character/player combinations.


Just some of my favorites without Enchanting:

Nightengale Blade: Absorb Stamina, and Health. *Drainspirit Sword: Absorb Stamina. *Drainspell/Blackbow: Absorb Magika. Nightengale Bow: Shock, and Frost. Fellhammer: Absorb Stamina (and hidden attack speed.) Mace of Molag Bal: Damage Stamina, Health, and Soul Trap. Keening; Absorb Health, Stamina, AND Magika (If you know how to fix it.) Baller's Oathblade: Damage Stamina, and Fear. Dawnbreaker: Bane of the Undead (And glows lighter when they're near.) *Ghostblade: Damage through armor (and ultralight.) Grimsever: Frost, and Stamina Damage. Pale Blade: Frost, Stamina Damage, and Fear. Windshear: Stunlock. Longhammer: Light, Fast Striker, and not technically Enchanted. Skull of Corruption: Pure unadulterated Damage. Sanguine Rose: Summon Dremora. Staff of Magnus: Absorb Magika, then Health. Staff of Jyrik Gauldurson: Lightningboltarama. Wabbajack: who knows? Mercer Frey's *Dwarven Sword of Devouring: Absorb Health, along with The Blade of Woe, which turns dual wield into vampyrism, only faster.

Feed any, or most of them with Soul Gems to level Enchanting while you look for stuff to *Disenchant. (Note: all three of the Absorb effects are included.)

I put soul trap on my Ebony Dagger, since with Assassins blade its essentially a guaranteed kill anyway.
Dragonbane at higher levels( 40 shock damage to dragons anyone?) is one of my favourite weapons.

My Nightmace uses TMoMB the same way ("Only" 12 times the damage on a backstab,) once I unlocked The Black Star, of course. My general point was that there are plenty of Artifacts that come with enchantments that are unique, or difficult to reproduce with Enchanting, and not Restoglitching. That means you can get by with just Smithy (or leave them Vanilla, and invest in the character as I do) without adding 170 levels of Alchemy, and Enchanting. As the OP was entitled "Favorite Enchantments", most of mine are ones that just require soul gems to recharge.

Being that I mainly play a dual-wielding, reckless, yet sneaky character, Absorb Health is my go-to enchantment for weapons and Fortify One-Handed/Archery for applicable armor.

Easily Fortify Archery for me. I've got +160% Archery in total on all of my equipment.

Paralyse is extremely good, but I find 'Bullseye' works often enough. But if I definitely need a paralysis, I just use a poison, its more reliable.
Banish is good, but isn't needed that often, since its generally easier just to kill the summoner.
Fear is good for archers, since enemies generally run away rather than search for you.

it might be more reliable but I don't like having to carry around any potions other than healing magicka stamina and a few poisons I'd rather use enchantments if I can it just makes everything easier more organized and it takes less space

Fair enough but the fact I have 510 carry weight on my thief, I don't really get that problem anymore.
