	Log in to remove this sponsored message So i just reached 100 smithing and now that ive made each kind of heavy armour i just want to make a set of orcish that reaches the armor cap. Can i do this just with smithing potions? Tips and tricks? Also what is the armor cap? Is there a damage cap for swords too? I'll probably want to do this with steel plate for my follower too Thanks! -------------------

	Smithing potions + Smithing enchanted apparel = Any armor can reach the armor cap of 567(i think? lol). I believe at least a few Alchemy/Enchanting/Heavy Armor perks are necessary though. Weapons do not have damage caps, btw.

	The Armor Rating cap is 667. However, for each piece of actual armor you're wearing, subtract 25 to get the number you actually want to see in the Apparel menu. For every piece of armor you wear, the game gives you a hidden 25 point bonus to your armor rating on top of what it actually displays. The 567 Armor Rating that everyone keeps throwing around is the number you want to see if you're wearing 4 pieces of armor (Head, Chest, Hands, and Feet, for example). The actual number varies. So someone not using a Shield or a Helmet would want to get 592 armor. -------------------

	I imagine having 100 Heavy Armor skill, and the 5 points in (I think)Juggernaut, then the perk for a matching set, should put you at least up close, shouldn't it? EDIT: That is, if you've fully upgraded the armor itself as high as you can. ------------------- PS Vita General Forum

A set of Legendary Orcish armor (Head, Chest, Hands, and Feet) backed up by 5 ranks of Juggernaut, Well-Fitted, and Matching Set would give 588 Armor. Add in the Hidden Armor Rating, and you get 688 armor, which is 21 points over the Armor Rating cap. All you need is 100 Smithing and the Orcish Smithing perk. So it's not even hard to do. -------------------

	why would you even want to do Orcish? it looks like total crap IMO. coolest heavy armor is Dragonplate or Ebony IMO, Daedric is ok too. or i guess Steel Plate if you want to look like a traditional medieval knight.

	i also wish the smithing menu was organized better, like LIGHT ARMOR, HEAVY ARMOR, WEAPONS, and JEWELRY main categories so you dont have to flip through tons of options to find what you want.

	no but when almost every one has 5 armor choices and 7 or 8 weapon choices, it gets tiresome flipping through them all. not that i make Steel stuff much but that one has a ridiculous amount.

Maybe someone will make a mod to streamline it more, but to be honest the menu system in Skyrim is one of the better ones I've seen. 	why not just being able to create your OWN armor, from what its made out of (affects its armor rating) to its shape and color. sure you can do this on PC, im talking more on console.
