	Log in to remove this sponsored message At first I thought this was just the case of people being idiots and that they deserved what they got. It seems I was wrong: quote Even though there are an overabundance of the same topics, I want to clear up one issue that I keep seeing. When you start your adventure in Skyrim, the game creates a save file for you before you create your character. This save file is treated as an auto-save file by the PS3 in that it doesn't require you to do anything for it to save. HOWEVER, the save file is NOT an auto-save file. It will show up as any normal, manually saved file in your saved files. What is happening here is that people are using that save file as their main manual save file, overwriting any existing information that was there. This is all fine and dandy if you plan on only using one character. The next time you decide to create a new character and start from the beginning, the game will overwrite your existing file with the new "Prisoner" file that's created right before character creation. It is highly suggested that when you first save your first game file, you start it as a new save. Do NOT save over the preexisting "Prisoner" save file as any future work will be overwritten once you create your second character. IF you currently only have one save file for your Skyrim game, I strongly advise you to open up that copy and create a second, duplicate copy. Thus, when someone (you, your siblings, your friends, etc...) creates a new character, you won't be mad at them for your copy disappearing. 	I reallllllly wish I had seen this about 10 minutes ago. I started a new save character because I had my Kahjiit level 30 with 80 range and alot of other stuff and I wanted to see how the Orcs did with two handed weapons. When I saved my orc after getting done with the first barrows quest I went to save. I noticed my Kahjiit wasn't there but I just put it off as a glitch. When I later went back I noticed my save file was gone. I then raged.

	I use the autosave and manually save alot oversaving on pre existing manually save files. So is it only the autosave files that get rewritten? Or is it also ones you save to a new one? Even when your manually save files do come from the files that autosave if thats your last save file. I guess in other words. If I start a new one, will my manual files I made(which are one but my autosave files are like 3 before the oldest one gets switched out for a new one to where it always cycles out) still be there if or will I lose that too since the prisoner file isnt an autosave one? Cause thats the way I'm reading it that its only files that get autosaved(which will be the 3 rotating ones)are the one you lose. -------------------

	I cannot even create a manual save file? Ever since I began playing I had issues with this. When I'd try to create a New Save, it wouldn't show up in the saved games list. When I tried to over write an old save to see if my game would save that way it wouldn't save there either? I play on XBOX360, but I was recently wanting to start a new character and don't want to lose my level 81 Wood Elf. I've just been using autosave up to this point since I could never get my game to manually save. Any suggestions? I'm also rather new to gaming, bought the system from a friend who was moving, his game was on a manual save, but I have no way of contacting him at the moment to ask him what I'm doing wrong...
