Let's say we have a 25 point Ravage Health poiso, and we're facing an enemy with 100 Health. If our weapon does 30 damage, there is no damage gain. The weapon reduces their health to 70/100, then the poison reduces their health to 70/75. All this does is reduce their maximum health if they heal. If, on the other hand, our weapon does only 20 damage, there is a Damage increase. The weapon knocks their health down to 80/100, then the poison knocks them down to 75/75. Unfortunately, I find the entire thing unreliable, as it requires knowing exactly how much of your damage will get through at all times. Not to mention the display issues. Depending on how the game decides to display it, a Ravage Health poison may actually appear to cause your weapon to deal no damage at all, or reduce your damage output.
