Alchemy leveling guide

Alchemy is based on potion price so i though id post the most expensive potions i have managed to make as i couldn't find a list like this anywhere else on the net based on price.

All these ingrediants can be found with Alchemists "The small Vampire girl in dark brootherhood" and "Black Couldron -Whiterun"


Giant toe and wheat - Most expensive potion £2615
Giant toe and Blue mountain flow - same potion slightly less expensive

Chourus Eggs + Vampire Dust - £1121

Garlic and slaughter fish - £1014

Frost Mirriam - Purple Mountain Flower - £1014

Ice Wraith Teeth = Vampire Dust -£1143

Briar Heart / Canis Root / Imp Stool - Any combo of 2 £954, Paralysis

Blue Butterfly wing & Springgon Sap - £947

Glow Dust + Spriggon Sap - £899
Glow Dust + hanging Moss - £1222

Salt & Deathbell ( or River Betty) - £828 Slow

Thistle Branch & Sloughterfish Scales - £600

Juniper Berries + Skeever Tail - £539

Tundra Cotton & Void Salts - £529

Blue Dartwing & Orange Dartwing - £506

Ectoplasm & Red Mountain Flower £454

and can these be made with any level of achemy or do you need to be above a certain skill level and/or have a relevant perk?

Also do you mean to say the more expensive the potion is the higher your alchemy experience will go up by?

If so this is a very good list (though a spoiler tag would have been helpful for those that want to discover new potions/poisons themselves)

I guess this is just for selling the potions? I say that because no matter how many potions, or how many ingredients they have within them,or however much i use / take the potions and the poisons, my alchemy skill never ever increases, its still on 20, and i mean i hardly do anything else other then create potions and the skill just won't increase

It is still useful, get or make as many clothing items that boost your alchemy skill as you can wear though.

The title says "alchemy leveling guide" so people that want to find out the combinations on their own wouldn't want to read this page anyway.

Anyway, I've been leveling alchemy on 4 different characters (I always max out all 3 crafting abilities because they are awesome!)

-giant's toe + wheat + scaly pholiata = 4.5k

That's the most expensive potion I've been able to make.

Note that I do have 4 pieces of +25% alchemy gear as well as 5/5 Alchemist, Physician and Benefactor perks causing the price to really shoot up high. Also the 20% for the thief guardian stone and 15% skill level bonus from sleeping.

At skill level 82 that potion nearly got me a whole level though...

A few others i found out (with the same gear equipped)

-creep cluster + frost mirriam + scaly pholiata = 2k
-namira's rot + deadra heart + nordic barnicle = 1.7k
-river betty+ scaly pholiata + nightshade = 2.5k
-chaurus eggs + nirnroot + lavander = 2.1k
-blue mountain flower + nightshade + glowing mushroom = 2.1k
-juniper berries + namira's rot + elves ears = 1.6k

What I found to be useful for leveling was finding potions that match two areas that give a good value. Fortify Carry Weight is a really good one and pairing it with any of the other fortifies works pretty well.

only problem with making potions that are worth over 1000 gold is that hardly any merchants ever have more than like 1100 gold at a time

well until they do , i am stuck with a lot of stuff i need to sell
