Thieves Guild Glitch (?)

	Wiki Pages Thieves Guild Log in to remove this sponsored message I'm currently in the process of becoming theives guildmaster. I've done all 5 jobs and special quests for Solitude, Whiterun and Windhelm. No matter how many times I ask for jobs from Vex and Mallory I can't seem to get a job involving Markarth. Am I screwed? Do I need to do something in order to get assigned a job in this area? I've travelled to Markarth but haven't actually done any jobs associated with the town as of yet. I also haven't started the main storyline yet either. Any ideas guys? Thanks thieves guild master markarth glitch

	just keep doing jobs and youll eventually get one i guess,ive got a lot for markarth your probaly just unlucky

	What I do in situations like these is I just set the quest as my current quest and go wherever the marker on the compass tells me to. This sorts everything out usually. ------------------- Let's get this forum active again!

	Hey. I'm having this problem too! Only difference is its happening to me with solitude. Sometimes when i ask them they dont even give me a mission. So i think when its a mission that has to do with solitude they just dont give it to me. Did you fix yours?

You have to do 5 jobs in each of the cities OP mentioned, when you do the 5 you get a special quest for that city. The problem is the smaller jobs are randomly assigned to a city instead of them being assigned on where you need to do the jobs. It isn't a matter not no knowing where to go. Back to OP's concern. You just have to be patient mate, I must have completed a good 40 jobs before I finally got the last jobs I needed in Markarth.

Save in the thieves guild, take jobs and if they're not in Markarth cancel them immediately and ask for another, you'll get it eventually. ------------------- Dovahkiin..Dragonborn!

I tried it three times with vex but just got the same city every time so I assumed it was the same one.

	I have a shill job from Vex at the thieves guild to plant a stolen gem on Hemskrs in Whiterun But I can't find his house? Anyone done this one.

	I was having this same problem and I came across this thread while trying to find a solution. Thought I'd come back and report my findings. Note: This is not empirically tested, and is just my personal experience, therefore it may be simply coincidence. I had completed the special quests for Whiterun, Windhelm, and Solitude, but had still not received a single Markarth job. At this time I did a side quest for Tonilia (The fence in Ragged Flagon) in which I had to negotiate a deal with a Kaajhit caravan leader named Ri'Saad. Once finished, the Markarth jobs started trickling in, and I was able to become guild master. Hope this helps!

	Just wanted to quickly reply with my "Me too" Same problem, I kept saving/reloading when getting new jobs to try to get something from Markarth. No dice, I got one job at one point to steal something from the stables at Markarth, but NOTHING else. I was getting frustrated when I took a gander at this thread. It seems that sometime between your first and third city quest you complete, Tonla (SP?) decides she needs a way to transport the growing guild's goods. I just picked up the quest so I'll complete this now and see if that opens up Markarth any better...this might be a "requirement" that isn't listed in any of the hint/walkthroughs. It's entirely possible that either Markarth or your "last" city you can't complete till you've done this job. Would make a bit of sense based upon the storyline. --Illydth

	Took all of about 5 minutes to complete Tonla's job. Returned to her and got her "quest complete". Then went back and started talking to Devlin and Vex. Took me about 15 reloads to get a Markarth question from Vex and about 5 reloads to get one from Devlin. shrug. I only reloaded about 20 - 25 times total before doing the job from Tonla, so I have NO idea if that influenced things or not. Still, I did manage to get Markarth Jobs after talking with the Kajit's outside of Markarth, shrug Coincidence? No idea. --Illydth

	Just got the last of my Markarth jobs, and finally the city quest. After the first set, I came back and re-loaded Vex 41 times, trying each of the job types (in case that was the problem) 10 times each, not a single time did I hit Markarth. Tried Devlin and reloaded him about 10 times as well...no dice there. Took a set of jobs for cities I'd already completed then went back to Vex/Devlin after completion. Within 10 reloads each, had Markarth. You MAY not be able to get Markarth jobs back to back...or if it's random Markarth has a VERY VERY low opportunity rate. I'm not sure the caravan quest had anything to do with it.

That includes the specific details of the quest, target(s) and location. if you have done the quest for stormcloaks to attack whiterun then it is impossible. his door to his house is covered by rubble so you cant do it.
