Resetting Vendor Gold

I think they reset everyday actually? (24 hours) I will check to be sure, but I remember selling shit to the Riverwood Blacksmith, and then coming back later and he had more, so~

Sell stuff, wait 24 hours, sell more. Morrowind vendors, how I love thee. :3

I think they reset every day of game time. I know that I have to travel to different towns to sell most of my stuff, but then the next day I can do it all over again.

Why would you wait outside for 48 hours instead of sleeping?

This may seem like a strange theory, but it seems to me there are actually two different versions of each town/vendor.

For example, I'm certain that I entered Riften twice within the same day, not giving the vendors enough time to reset and yet all of them had had their gold count reset. Also there's another factor, when I walk into one 'version' of Riften the Elven Helm on Grelka's market stall is on the floor, in the exact same spot each time, yet when I walk into this other version of Riften, it's back on the stand where it's supposed to be, and of course in both versions Grelka has all of her gold.

Similarly when using Tonilla in the Ragged Flagon I walked in there on one save sold all my goods but realised that I'd forgotten to put my Thieve's Guild hood to get better prices. Not wanting to miss the deal and very short on gold for my next set of training sessions I reloaded from before the transaction took place, only this time Tonilla had no gold to trade with.

I've probably bumped into some ridiculous glitch and vendors do reset their gold within 24 hours, I just thought I'd mention my strange experience.

This works on all vendors on PC. It would be good to know if it works on 360 and PS3.
