Maybe im just not going far enough into the wilds but i never seem to run into Giants that often. Maybe they are scared of me.

Don't think this has been mentioned yet but giants are scared of water so just stand in a river and own them...

Aye just i dont seem to run into them that often. Or maybe im just not paying attention to the compass.

the first time i saw one was when i was playing on the easiest level and he was rather slow and i got his health down like halfway and he hadnt even touched me yet i was like i dont see why people make a big deal from these but then he hit me once and i died then i was like "ohh thats why there a big deal"

My first Giant kill, I was doing the quest 'A Night to Remember', and I was wondering why he wasn't attacking me. So I talk to the goat to get it to follow and he got mad, so I kept hiding until I had the brilliant idea of using Unrelenting Force to knock him down. He fell down a hill and died instantly from one use of the Shout. Needless to say I was surprised and thought 'well, that was easier than I thought it'd be'.

The next time I saw one, a Blood Dragon had started to swoop down, so I let the two of them work things out, but the BD wasn't taking all that much damage from the Giant, much to my dismay. The Giant, he was losing chunks, so I decided to use my Orcish Bow to soften the Dragon up. Oddly enough, it pissed off the Giant, who turned to me, angrily... And proceeded to do his impression of a roasted marshmallow as the Dragon blasted him. After killing the dragon and collecting its bones and scales, I proceeded to mourn the Giant, for he was, if only for a few moments, a valuable ally... Then I killed his Mammoth because the tusks are worth good money, and it was staring at me anyway.

I only started playing Skyrim tonight. Only a couple of mins into playing and I've come across 3 giants. One the first time, and two the second time. I'm guessing there's no way I can kill them yet at my level?

I jumped straight into battle, circling the big mother*bleep*er and getting in a load of strikes with my sword, but then he just smashed my face in.

Do arrows actually work then? I was going to try the 2nd time I came across them but it was so dark and snowy I couldn't see them very well so I hid instead.

Get yo Destruction to 40 or higher, then buy the Stagger Perk. Then try to fight them one at a time. Always dualcast the cheapest possible Spell. A Giant that cannot reach you cannot kill you.

i love how easily i can dispatch 2 giants + mammoths simultaneously when I was struggling with just the one at the start... It really does feel like my guy's come a long way...

i fight giants like i fight any other big mobs - block regular attacks, slash/slash/slash, block power attack, time slows down, shield bash to interrupt power attack, slash/slash/slash.. I am a bit OP'd at the moment, but I'm sure this strategy would work at lower levels too...
