Seven days remain.
In exactly one week's time, I will have my copy of the game.

That is, I'd damn well better have my copy. I pre-ordered it at the start of August, and if the dudes at my local games and DVD rental emporium have somehow lost my preorder, or screwed it up... "The body's still warm. There's a murderer about!"
It may be quite clear that I don't have the utmost confidence in the professionalism of the dudes (and one lady) who work there, and this stems from the fact that they regularly put empty display cases out on their shelves for games that A) they have received no copies to actually sell and B) have sold out.
This leads to me going up to the counter and asking if they have whatever game it is that I want rather than looking at the shelves, picking out a case and clutching it hopefully in both hands while waiting for the dude in the red uniform shirt to check in the back or have a look on the 'puter.

I'm not even kidding. I would actually do murder on the people reponsible if I don't get my game on release day.

I can't believe it's just a week away now. Seems like only a couple of weeks ago the release trailer came out. I did a pretty good job of forgetting about it until close to the release date so I didn't have to wait long for it.

My Gamestop will have the game. My only problem is the lines there. They never EVER have enough people working and I usually stand in line for at least a half an hour - and that's not even at a midnight release. That's at noon on a Saturday. I can only imagine the melee there at 5:30 on the Friday after Skyrim's release, but alas I shall brave the crowd to get it.

Curt Connors: Maybe all available staff will still be knackered after MW3's midnight opening on that Tuesday?

I don't think the place where I buy games has midnight openings. At least I thought they didn't, until the dude said they'll have to have one for Battlefield, and later MW3, or they wouldn't sell any.
I guess because Skyrim doesn't appeal to idiots as much they don't feel the need to do midnights because... there aren't as many idiots who want to buy the game.
Of course I'm still going to rock up as soon as the place opens in the morning; it's one of the advantages of not having a job right now.

I will be there at eight thirty in the morning, probably after getting drunk the night before.
