It's one of those films that I sort of wished it could have been longer. I've not read any of the books but I just felt some scenes were a little rushed!

Yeah my sister has read the book and she said that they left a lot of the backstory out. It was a pretty long film already and the way they handled it was pretty good so i don't blame them for it, one of the better book to film adaptations from what i've heard about the book.

I thought the movie was very good. Stayed pretty true to the book, and, Agent Mo, I thought Jennifer Lawrence did a pretty good job! I must say, she looks a lot better as a brunette than a blonde.

Here in the US, there's just PG-13, and R. No in betweens, so a R rating could have ensured the movie wouldn't do well. If it was rated 'R', there would be no chance of it becoming the next Harry Potter or Twilight (as the movie makers no doubt hope).

When I first heard it was going to be rated PG-13, I wasn't surprised at all, but was a tad bit disappointed. While The Hunger Games is supposed to be a young adult's/teenager novel, it has...a lot of violence. If that was directly translated to the screen, I'm sure it would get an 'R' rating. So yeah, they didn't focus too much on the blood/gore, and the killing (fast-paced, camera doesn't focus on it much), but I thought it was still very well done.

The only other (relatively) big thing that they toned down in the movie, was those wolf/dog/beasts. In the book, they're described as having the eyes/faces of the tributes that already died. I suppose that was a little too creepy to put into the movie.

And yes, they didn't spend a lot of time in District 12/the forest at the beginning, but honestly, it would have been boring if they did. All the action happens in the Games.

I'm so glad I started playing Dark Souls again. I had almost forgotten how much fun it is crying over a video game...

Nah, not really interested in Vanquish..

I've definitely died more times in my 100 or so hours of Dark Souls than whatever that stat was you posted for your God Hard playthrough, but I can appreciate that's evidently hard as *bleep* too.

Fair point, but I figured it would balance out between an APRG and a TPS considering you'll probably be starting from a checkpoint immediately against enemies. Where as I have to travel/run 5-20 minutes from the Bonfire (checkpoint) to encounter the thing giving me shit.
