I just bought a new computer, upgrading from Windows Xp to Windows Vista.

At first, things were fine and then I noticed problems. The biggest one is that my moving controls are jerky and then sometimes just spin in a circle. I can interrupt it by hitting ESC and then returning to the game but it's really a pain when you're in the middle of evading the police.

So, no problem, I took the saved games and sent them over to my laptop which uses Windows XP.

Had the same problem.

So, I can only surmise that I need to go to my old computer and transfer those saved games to my laptop as the games transferred from Windows Vista/new computer were played for a time.

Other than that, I was wondering if there's a patch for this game to work with Vista or if I just need to do the above strategy or something else.

There is no patch for this game to preform better with vista. Have you tried running the game in compatibility mode?
Right click on your Vice City shortcut, go to properties. Go to the compatibility tab and enable compatibility mode for Windows XP Service Pack 2, remember to press "Apply" first and then "Okay".

It basically trys to run the game or application as a past operating system has compared to the new methods. It doesn't always work better, I haven't tried San Andreas on Vista but it definitely doesn't hurt to try it.

I'm pretty sure its ur Keyboard, i just installed Vice City, played some missions, killed some cops, and no problems I have Home Premium, maby that makes a difference. Maby if you look at options -> Controls, that u have ur Walk keys have on some other Keys, like sprinting..

I also have vista and switched the compatibility mode to XP service pack 2 and had no luck. My screen shows all letters and numbers appearing and sisapearing as well as the character disappearing at times. Any suggestions to get this to work? Also any seuggestions to get Diablo 2 to work with Vista?

yeah i had that problem too.. with the numbers and alphabets appearing on the screen. And then the screen would go black for a second or two while in the middle of game play. Any known fixes?

i just got a new comp and im running xp and vista on it ....but no trouble with VC on vista soo far...ill let you know if anything changes

I play both VC and GTA 3 with Vista. No problems with GTA 3 but in VC some builds turn green.
