Huddersfield Town FC 2010-2011

After another great season with Lowestoft Town, many bigger teams are starting to take notice of my achievements. With teams such as Mansfield, Hereford and Huddersfield all rumoured to be approaching me in the coming weeks after their managers left. I won't be leaving my position as Lowestoft Town unless I'm approached by a club.

Anyway, time to celebrate the title win with the team!

BREAKING NEWS

Lowestoft Town Football Club manager Ben Winter is the new Huddersfield Town boss, replacing outgoing Lee Clark.
Winter leaves Lowestoft Town after 4 very successful seasons.


The rumours were true, but I leave my position as Lowestoft Town manager with my head held high, leaving some amazing memories behind. I'm also delighted that I'll be testing my managerial skills in a much higher league. Time to get working with the Huddersfield boys...

First game of the season today away to Brighton. Should be a tough game, but I reckon we could get something out of it...




It was always going to be tough getting a result away to Brighton, but when you have so many chances, control most of the first half and even have a goal disallowed, it's really hard to accept defeat. Brighton managed to get their goal immediately after the break, when they launched a quick attack from kick-off. A 1-0 loss wasn't a fair result in my eyes, but I have to give Brighton credit for their 2nd half performance.

AUGUST 2010:



To sum up, August was a very good month. We played very well in every one of our games, and could have easily won every game (we had enough chances to anyway). I had to rest a few players when playing Middlesbrough as some were not fully fit. We took them all the way to penalties, despite having some really easy chances to score ourselves. We didn't score a single penalty, and Middlesbrough won 3-0 on penalties. The Carlisle game proved a bit of a scare when they scored 2 late goals to threaten a comeback. Apart from that, great results with great performances.


My Player of the Month was between 2 strikers, Leigh Griffiths and Alan Lee. I ended up giving the award to Alan Lee as I didn't expect him to do as well and he scored a great goal from 30 yards out against Lincoln.

It might not seem that good, but the build up play and assist was great, which was finished off cooly by Leigh Griffiths.

September 2010 Round Up:



A great month in every aspect! Very unlucky to concede late on against Leyton Orient.


Apart from conceding late on, we were brilliant that game. We dominated possession, and had plenty of good chances that either hit the woodwork or were saved.

4 Wins out of 5 saw me win Manager of the Month!

My Player of the Month award goes to Seamus Coleman. He's been one of the most consistent players in the team, making important challenges and generally being great. We won every game with him, and drew 1 without him. He's been vital so far this season, and I'm so glad he's here until the end of the season.

Pilkington is currently out for 6-7 weeks, so I'm hoping to sign Andrea Orlandi on loan from Swansea for 3 months.
