While digging a bit further down in my open pit mine, a question hit me like an intangible nonexistent entity.

The non-living resources(ie not derived from plants or animals or whatever ghasts are) are technically finite, aren't they? Won't there be a point, extremely far down the line, when you've gathered up and used all the resources possible? Especially in the 360 version since the world size isn't incomprehensibly mind-raping, some more addicted players might actually hit that line. If you were to hit that line in your favorite world, is there anything you can do aside from starting over? Is it even possible to run out of anything?

It is possible, in the Xbox 360 version, to run out of many resources. None of the ores or their products (coal, iron, diamond, gold, redstone, lapis lazuli) are renewable, though you can smelt logs in a furnace to make charcoal, which is functionally the same as coal. Mossy cobblestone, from dungeons, is also non-renewable. Even some very basic materials, such as dirt, sand and Netherrack, are non-renewable.

In the PC version, however, iron and gold are renewable, as zombie pigmen drop gold nuggets (and sometimes gold ingots) and zombies will rarely drop iron ingots. As well, you can buy a lot of formerly non-renewable resources from villagers, making them renewable as long as you keep villagers alive. Also, despite the limit of around 32,000,000 blocks in terms of how much computers can handle, the worlds in the PC version (with the sole exception of the End) are, technically speaking, infinite, which would mean infinite amounts of resources if you could somehow bypass the 32,000,000-block "limit". Hell, the 32,000,000-by-32,000,000-block area you're given contains, for all intents and purposes, an infinite amount of resources, because let's be frank, nobody, no matter how obsessed, is ever going to mine out everything in that space.

You know how you can clear an entire MCXB360 map within 10 minutes? WorldEdit. Then again, the Xbox version is sucky so there probably never will be a WorldEdit for Xbox maps.
