	Wiki Pages Shovel Diamond Log in to remove this sponsored message I found an excess of diamonds while mining out a particularly large cavern with one of my friends and decided to make a few diamond tools. The pickaxe I made has been degrading as I would expect. My diamond shovel, however, has now dug out roughly 600 gravel (replaced and dug repeatedly to farm flint) as well as several hundred blocks each of dirt and sand that I just started hacking away at for fun when I realized the thing wasn't losing durability at all. It's dug out enough blocks now that it should easily be more than half way through it's lifespan but it still looks like a brand new shovel (no durability bar). Has anyone else experienced something like this? I might just try digging like 2000 blocks with it to see if it will definitely survive past the point when it should have broken. xbox

	It's just a bug. The same thing happened to me with iron pickaxes. I grabbed a few out of my chest thinking they were new, only to have them break on me after a few blocks. -------------------

	Well it's reverted to normal now but it was a bit different than what you described with the iron picks. I managed to dig well over 4000 blocks with it and it remained looking like a brand new shovel. I tried putting it in a storage chest. No change. I tried giving it to my friend and letting him use it. Same deal, it wouldn't break for him either. However, I just logged back into my world today after saving and quitting out yesterday and now the shovel has a durability bar and is degrading normally... though when I first logged in it had like 90% of it's max durability even though I'd dug thousands of blocks with it. Weird glitch, that's for sure. I kind of hope it happens again and this time with a pickaxe, lol.

	Yea it's definitely a bug. I made a gold shovel and it broke after like ten blocks. I applaud the realism they're trying to bring into this game, but come on. =( ------------------- We don't know who we are until we see what we can do.

	Well if they're going for realism then gold should break before iron but the difference in durability right now isn't entirely accurate. Assuming the durability for an iron tool as the standard (251 uses), based on the hardness qualities of gold and iron in real life, gold tools should have around 70 uses. Making it very accurate to reality like that would be ridiculous for diamond tools though because they would need to have over 16,000 uses to realistically correspond with the 251 uses of iron (diamond is roughly 64 times as hard as iron). But anyways, on topic for a sec: my shovel just broke when it should have. I made two more and and both of them are also behaving normally. No idea what caused the bug but I wish I knew, lol.

	I came from my page [Whats your way to find diamonds] and once this happened to me. The durability wouldn't go down! But Diamondo still broke. :C

Go look at those ugly "Super HD Realism Epic Powerful And So On Texture Pack On topic:It's never happened to me but I wish it had when a server was trying to clear a mountain.

But yes I have had this bug too where I had a diamond pickax and it never ran out of durability.

	gold actually has the fastest mining speed. they're useful if you make them un bulk and want to clear something fast. -------------------
