	Log in to remove this sponsored message So every time I make a world on 1.8, the screen's just black. An error message flashes for a second, then the screen turns black again. I've tried force updating. Is this common? What should I do to end this? ------------------- Bananas are good.

	I've heard lots of people are having issues with Java 7. Downgrade back to 6. That's what I'm using and it works fine. ------------------- www.neonshift.com

	I realize this isn't the same problem as what the OP has, but this is another common issue with playing Minecraft with the new 1.8 update. Download the new Minecraft.exe launcher That worked for me. The old launcher is actually smaller, so it seems that at least some of us need a brand new launcher to get it to work.
