Survival Island, Can you pass the challenge?

Survival Island

After playing the original Island Survival created by wookie4747 (which can be found here in the archives) I was inspired to try and create my own.

The rules are simple:
1. Don't leave the Island.
2. Play on at least Normal difficulty.
3. Bookmark the thread if you find it interesting.
4. Post pictures of your achievements.
5. No hacking.
6. If you die, you lose
7. Have fun!

Version 1.1

More challenging than Version 1.0. The land mass has increased by 20% and the initial starting ore sizes have been reduced. The optional resources (cactus, reed etc.) are still there, but they have been hidden below ground.

This version also includes 5 hidden bonus challenges not found in 1.0. If you don't care about playing the challenge, please disregard the signs.

• Optional Challenge Mode **

The optional challenge mode is a series of challenges that you can accomplish to earn points. You get one point for each one completed. No one will be judging, so use your imagination and create what is fun for you.

Users of version 1.0 will not be able to complete challenge #10 or any of the bonus challenges. (Something I will correct when I release version 2)

Users of version 1.1 will still be able to use the cactus and reed, but you will first have to find it hidden in the caverns below.


The challenges:

1. Build a two story house/base with at least 20+ windows.
2. Build 10 bookcases.
3. Build an automated cactus farm.
4. Build an under ground tree farm.
5. Build an above ground animal trap.
6. Build a drowning trap around the skeleton spawner.
7. Build a cart system.
8. Build something with redstone.
9. Gather 10 unused diamonds.
10. Find the treasure left behind by the Lost Curator.

Download the zip file, drag it to desktop, right click the file, and click Extract Here.( If you want to put it into multiplayer and single player on the same PC, copy and paste it rather than dragging it, as I say below) FOR WINDOWS SINGLEPLAYER: 1. Go to start on the bottom left corner 2. type in %appdata% on your search bar 3. click on roaming 4. click on .minecraft or minecraft 5. open saves 6. Click and drag the zip file that is saved onto your desktop into this file 7. IMPORTANT! rename the folder World1, World2, World3, World4, or World5. It comes as default as World3, but if you already have a World3 in there, click and drag the file your replacing outside of the saves folder, onto your desktop or save it on a flash drive, so not to loose that save. 8. Launch Minecraft Survival Singleplayer 9. now click on the world you replaced. It should be replaced with that file. If you ever want to get your old world back, remove the Survival Island save and replace it with your old save, wherever you placed that. (It's the file I told you to save onto a Flash drive or on desktop) ON MULTIPLAYER (WINDOWS OR MAC): 1.Open up your file with all of the multiplayer information (bannedips, bannedplayers, etc.) 2. Click and drag the unzipped file into this section. 3. Click and drag "world" onto your desktop or save it to a Flash Drive, if you don't want to loose your current multiplayer World. (Or anywhere outside of your Multiplayer folder.) 4. open up "server.properties" or "server", depending on your computer. 5. Change level-name= to World3, instead of the default world. 6. go to file, then save. 7. now go into your server from anywhere, and it should be there. ON MAC: SINGLEPLAYER: 1. In the top right of your screen, on the far right of the taskbar, there's a magnifying glass. Click it. 2. Search "Library". 3. Click on Library. 4. Click Application Support. 5. Click Minecraft. 6. click saves. 7. Click and drag the World3 file in this folder onto your desktop (If World3 is there) 8. Click and drag the other unzipped World3 folder on your desktop into the "saves" folder. 9. Now whenever you launch World 3 on Minecraft Survival, it should launch the Survival Island map. (If you ever want to get your old World 3 save back, rename the Survival Island World3 World1, World2, World4, or World5. The file will replace the corresponding World by the name, or just remove it from the saves folder, by clicking and dragging it onto your desktop or any other folder. Then place your original World3 file back into the "saves" folder.
