	Log in to remove this sponsored message I've never really been too tempted to root...I could myself as tech savvy, but I haven't really seen the benefits However, I've just been looking at all the lovely home screens some of you chaps have, and I'm starting to get kinda bored of my phone. So hey, why not. Basically I'm looking for the best step by step guide out there. Everything I need, the best ROM for my phone, etc etc. After rooting...what apps should I be downloading to see a benefit. And how do I do all these nifty things such as change to cool lock screens etc etc I have a funny feeling tommex may be the first respondent to this (if you remember me, I think you tried to talk me into rooting ages ago) So basically what I need is a guide, the best ROM and some accessory sources Cheers guys ------------------- ★ ★ ★ ★ ★

	If you want cool looking lockscreens and homescreens then you can download GO Launcher and GO Locker from the market and they allow you to customize your phone quite a bit. They don't require rooting. This is the guide I used a while back and it's really good. Also has some useful info to read up on. The best ROM is debatable. MIUI is unique and worth trying out if you want a different look. Cyanogenmod is pure Android and fast. I'd go for the latter to start off with then switch to something else after. -------------------

	God, rooting a DHD, takes me back. Like what MrApples said, I'd go with the AndroidForums guide, as they're usually very comprehensive and a little simpler than XDA, which I'd suggest for more advanced rooters, as their guides assume a lot of prior knowledge. I use a MIUI ROM at the moment, as it's simple, pretty and has an amazing default lockscreen. There's also AOSP which is vanilla Android and stuff like the Sense ROM sets, but I've personally never used a Sense ROM... yet. There's also a bunch of apps I'd suggest, but so as not to bog you down in stuff, I'll let you decide on whether or not to root your phone etc before I chuck a bunch of info at you. ------------------- Android Forum \| Twitter \| Last.FM
