Good call on phones, Gotenks, the Galaxy phones are amazing. I was playing around with my firend's last night, and although I got a bit annoyed she didn't know what rooting was, the phone was responsive and worked well. My only gripe is the aesthetic of what's on screen, but a root and ROM flash could sort that out... unless you like it, yourself.

Sony Ericsson Xperia X8. Good and cheap, loving it. =D

I currently have the HTC EVO. It is a great phone love the Mobile Hotspot! It is how I play on X-Box Live... And use my laptop... need to learn more about it though... I am disapointed I don't know much about it except how to use the hotspot and i got it the day it came out...

I'm pretty new to it as well though I will list the apps I use on a daily basis.

- Battery Indicator (free with a premium paid option)
- Vignette (paid app)
- Beautiful Widgets (paid app)
- Launcher Pro (free with a premium paid option)
- Dolphin Browser Mini (free) (there is a HD version also for free if your phone has a HD screen)

To explain some of them in a bit more detail;

Battery Indicator
This app allows you check what parts of the phone are using the most battery whether it is your Wi-Fi, GPS, Screen Brightness etc.. It allows you to check each of these in detail with toggles to turn things like Wi-Fi off if you think they are using too much juice.

Vignette
While one of the more expensive apps on the marketplace is a must have if you are into taking pictures on your phone. It comes with about 70 effects and several camera pre-sets that turns your little phone into a very powerful photography tool.

Beautiful Widgets
It's not that expensive but it allows you access to a whole series of helpful widgets and higher res clocks and weather skins, that really make your home screen pop to life.

Launcher Pro
Not essential but I like it. It is a home replacement for those that don't quite like the Sense interface HTC launch the phone with.

Dolphin Browser Mini/HD
Is a very powerful alternative to the default internet browser the phone comes with, it is very fast especially over Wi-Fi and seems to do a better job at handling embedded video than the default browser which is a plus.

There are so many apps out there and those are only a few that I have found in my short time on Android. Once you get the phone or hell before you get it just do google searches I am sure many people have Top 10 app lists that all differ.

Thank you for letting me know about that, I didn't think about the battery usage of the app and it only occurred to me after you said that how it would be a huge drain. I'll remove it straight away.

I haven't heard of Gingervillain (until now) I assume that ROM upgrades you to Android 2.3? I gotta say I am impressed with the level of interactivity and customisation possible behind the scenes I never really gave Android a chance until now and I am loving it.

Daweii, yeah, Gingervillain gives you 2.3.2, but I'm currently flashing Cyanogen Mod 7.0, which got released this morning, and I'll fill you in on the details once I've played around with it for a bit.

EDIT: It's pretty boss, but I make sure you flash a Googleapps.zip/apk set, or you'll be buggered. Other than that, very nice.

One question, Cmm... why the Wildfire S? Why not the Desire S?

I've had the Droid X for a while now. Love the phone, very fast and the touch screen is very responsive. Have a 16 gb card in it for my music and am currently addicted to Doodle Jump.
