	Log in to remove this sponsored message Superuser permissions allow you to use apps like Titanium Backup, which completely backs up everything on your phone, which is nice. You can also install screenshot apps, which I find very useful. Underclocking can easily double your battery life, which is fantastic plus. Most recent HTC phones run at about a 1Ghz constant speed, but I run my Desire at 384Mhz and it still runs like a dream. Rooting will void your warrantee and will probably fudge your insurance, but luckily there are two ways around this. The first is finding a stock RUU of your phone's firmware, which, when run will restore your phone to complete factory settings, with no trace of rooting... the second is just smashing your phone up, which should be covered by your insurance... don't quote me on the second method though. As for risks, the only real risk with rooting is is you mess up the rooting procedure. The only real way to do this is if you pull the battery while it's running... which no sane person would do anyway. The same comes with flashing a custom radio. 	Rooting your phone is a huge plus. Most roms you install have a custom interface, which looks ten times better then the current interface. You also get access to certain apps/widgets/features that are exclusive to it's device - for example, on a MyTouch 3G, you can't use live wallpapers. With Cyanogen installed, you can. You also get to use all those apps on the Market that say you must have a rooted device. Like the Wi-Fi tethering app. Rooting your phone will void your warranty, but you can easily unroot your phone, in case you ever have to send your phone in, to avoid this. Unrooting your phone means having to do a hard reset, so make sure you look up how to unroot your phone before you even start to root it. Just in case something comes up.

	HTC Desire on the U.S. Cellular network. Took them long enough to get an Android Powered phone, but I love my phone. I had an Eris about a year ago, but quickly cancelled my plan when it went bonkers in less than a month. 	Did anyone here in the UK get the new Sony Experia Play yet? The concept of combining a PSP and Smartphone together interested me and was wondering how they did on it. It hasn't been released over here in America yet (at least I don't think it has) and was just wondering if anyone could tell me how it turned out.

	tommex, CDMA phones don't have SIM... the Desire also came out in the US first afaik, same with the Nexus one too (here's US Cellular's page) XShadowknight, I don't really know what to think of the Play. U.S. Cellular (the company) only does CDMA, built in SIM phones now. They stopped doing SIM cards with the Razr V3 Nagare, they do have SIM, its built in rather than on a card. 	I have and love my Evo Shift! The 2nd generation processor runs so much faster and smoother than the original evo's, despite having 200 MHz less (which means the battery lasts longer). Look it up on youtube, the shift runs the quadrant speed test faster. ------------------- [●] Neohome

Some sick Specs and of course it's got a new version of HTC sense along with new OS completely. - 1.2 GHz dual core processor. - 1 GB RAM !!! holy bleep - Two 5 MP cameras to capture depth for 3D videos and pics/ (No glasses required for 3D effect) - 1 front facing camera. so yea, 3 cameras total. - 4.3 inch display. 	walnuts, decide around October or November. It isn't really a good idea to say I'm going to buy Phone X later this year...especially with Android where everything gets replaced and outdated at such a fast pace. With iOS you know the schedule of upgrades so it is easier to decide and with WP7, it seems as if there will be annual hardware enhancements in terms of the mins. ------------------- Check out the Android Forum!
