Aura: No, I haven't played Landstalker, although I have heard good things about it. =]

I just got back into playing Dark Souls again, and managed to summon someone to my world. They really helped me out against the second boss. It's a shame that once a boss is defeated, they disappear. They were super powerful too (more so than me). I'm a measly Cleric, so I don't tend to last very long (although it's probably a common trait of most classes) - although I found that not going down where the Ghosts are made it immeasurably easier.

I just have a Drake to contend with...

I avoided it, and went down the stairs half way along the bridge. Unfortunately I did end up getting hit by it's first breath of fire (see what I did there?), but it wasn't enough to kill me - thank goodness!

Easily one of the best games I've ever played, the isometric view is present here as well, and although the weapon selection is rather limited in the way of variety (swords only), the game makes up for that with a lot of side quests, and a really immersive world. It's almost hard to believe that something that intricate and complex came from a dated generation of consoles, so I have nothing but praise for Climax Entertainment on the work they pulled off.

Alundra is brilliant, but you can really see that it drew its influences and ideas from Landstalker. Unlike Alundra though, the protagonist in Landstalker isn't the sort of guy who is out to save the world, or fight a battle that determines the fate of the people within it, his motive is very different - greed. Yep, and from that very basic principle, they were able to make something that matches Alundra in terms of depth and complexity.


Also, I did read your comments on my YouTube channel, I just never had time when I read them to reply. So were you by any chance thinking of doing a Let's Play for Dark Souls? I had to discontinue mine thanks to a data crash, and I'm not too keen on the idea of farming several red and standard slabs again. I may start a new one however, but the first half an hour or so would be spent upgrading and ascending a single weapon to +15. Probably the Falchion, as usual.

I don't get it?

PerkoApple first one starts off with her usual dialog when you reach her in Painted World, and then the response by every player who meets her "OOOO YOUR TAIL I WANT IT". But, you know, more "dawww" and less "I WILL RIP IT FROM YOU WHILE YOU STILL BREATH".

Second one is a joke at her being a half-dragon, but not actually being able to fly away, and then taking a stab at how the player can kill harpies by coaxing them into falling off ledges, even though they can obviously fly.

lorx - OK, I get it. The tail one is cute but I didn't understand what they were looking at or hugging. But now I see. Are there more of these somewhere?

Speaking of failing, I still have fond memories of me failing at Demon Souls when I first played it. I remember I could barely get past the first archer. lol. Then the first time I saw a red phantom I freaked out.

I also remember thinking how addicting it was to move two inches. die, then move four inches, die, etc, etc. I hope they change something up in Dark Souls II to make us all have to relearn the tools of the trade again.
