So you want to PvP in Dark Souls

This following thread is not going to give you build advice or tell you where to PvP at. This thread will give combat info on the most workable weapon strategies I've seen in PvP.

Backstab Weapons:

Spear and Dagger have the biggest hitboxes in the game. If you put lighting or chaos on either of these and use the fog ring, you'll be good to go.

What not to do - You'll need the fastest roll speed possible. Don't worry about poise or big shields. The fog ring is so you can't be targeted and the benefit is that you can roll into and behind someone to immediately him them in the back. So, if you're facing them and they attack, roll into and passed them to attack for the backstab.




Juggle Weapons:

Greatsword

Axe and Club do no work for this. For this weapon to work in PvP, you will need it to be lighting and you will need 60+ poise. This weapon in pvp needs to hit in combos to keep your opponent in stunned animation and you need them to die before the stun fades. Don't worry about rolling or greatshields.



Combo friendly:

Sword , Mace, Club, Axe.

You need at lease 40 poise and rolling. You can do this one of two ways. You can ring poise for 40 and wear light armor for defense and combo... or you can where heavier armor for poise and use the dark grain ring for rolling. Either way, you need to be able to roll away or shield VS great swords but combo juggle the spear/dagger users.


The "ArUFnKittnMe" build:

Great Club, Great Axe, Dragon hammer

You need the miracle than makes opponents weighted and slow. You need to stack poise like you're hording for a hurricane. Just cast the miracle and then use your heavy attack on your hapless foe.


Magic/Ranged Caster.

Shield and Catalyst, Flame, Talisman


Pyromancy is best combined with melee. If you are considering sorcery than I highly recommend light armor and a greatshield. Use the shove attack on your shield to create caster openings and try to set enemies up in narrow and direct paths. Your biggest enemy is the casting time, not the amount of casts.

hi my name is chris i have a dark souls character i just brought to the psn world and i am looking for people to play with my psn name is cypher_archeon i am a pretty decent player i am on my ng++ and am looking for more of a challange add me and or reply if interested in playing thx and enjoy your grinding

So I'm currently role-playing as an infested barbarian and my main goal is to swing my giant club around like it's my erect dick (you're awesome Swashy ). The problem is that I'm having trouble finding players to invade. Probably because I'm in the wrong place at the wrong level. Are there any general guidelines where to find people of a certain soul level?
