Capcom expects its forthcoming survival horror title Resident Evil 6 will ship 7 million units.
The figure was revealed within the firm's latest financial briefing. In it, the company also unveiled expectations for Ninja Theory's DmC: Devil May Cry -- they're hoping the reboot will ship two million units. In addition, Capcom is also expecting Lost Planet 3 to ship 1.4 million units.
Dragon's Dogma, meanwhile, is expected to ship 1.5 million units. It'll obviously be a disappointing figure for the game's producer Hideaki Itsuno, though. He had said that he was hoping for the less palpable figure of 10 million. That said, stranger things have happened.
It's big talk from the publisher regarding Resident Evil 6 expectations, but it's certainly possible judging by the series' commercial success thus far. Since 2009, Resident Evil 5 has sold 5.8 million units, while the franchise as a whole has sold nearly 50 million units. More recently, despite poor critical reception, spin-off Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City shipped more than two million units.
