Pet Peeves - Page 2

I own two pairs of publicly-applicable shoes and they both look very similar. At least they're both dressy/high-end casual, though; I don't wear shitty shoes when I go places.

One of mine that comes to mind is when people start/nudge conversations just for the sake of making conversations, but without presenting a topic. I'd have a chat window open and suddenly, out of the blue, I'd be met with the very unhelpful "So..." That doesn't entice me to talk to you, it entices me to ignore you. If the conversation isn't going, it means we're lacking a topic to talk about, so don't try to talk to me unless you present something with actual essence. :/

Another thing that pisses me off are people who greet me with "how are you" and then have no intention to carry on a conversation. I can't count how many times that, at my school alone, someone (usually a teacher) has passed me in the hall and asked me "how are you" and continued on their way without even looking at me. Unless you really really really absolutely want to know how I am, just say "hello" or some derivative and walk away like everyone else.

Also, the question "what's up" and all of its other forms irk me somewhat. How the hell should I ever expect to answer that kind of question? What IS up? I'm... alive? I think I am, anyway... what am I doing? Uh... talking to you, since your invitation to chat has distracted me from anything I WAS doing, which was probably nothing notable in the first place.
