The moment has finally arrived, as the release date for Torchlight II is September 20.

Travis Baldree, president/co-founder of Runic Games, announced a short time ago the release date for the long awaited Torchlight II. Amid forum crashes and SQL errors, Baldree managed to tell the Runic community the exact date everyone can get their hands on the action-RPG. A more "official" announcement will be made during PAX Prime tomorrow, but he wanted to give the community a small gift beforehand.

I don't think there's much else I could say that would interest you right now, so -

The official Release Date for Torchlight II is Thursday, September 20th, 2012.

3 weeks away!

We'll announce it 'more' officially and bigger tomorrow.

September 20 is right before the official end of Summer, so Runic's earlier statement about a Summer 2012 release is still good. The only downside to all of this is the launch of Borderlands 2 a mere two days before, so hopefully everyone can budget their time accordingly. Or just load up on snacks and caffeine, if that suits you better. There could be something to be said about those games though, as Baldree posted an update later in the annoucement thread stating, "Borderlands 1 came out within a week of Torchlight 1. Good omen!"

So, can summer be over already in order to get Torchlight II and Borderlands 2 in our hands?
