We've known that Project Aces has been up to something for a while now after their Facebook page had Assault Horizon's logos removed, replaced by some updated graphics. New project confirmed, as Namco Badai has put up a teaser site that's no doubt leading into Project Aces' next big project. By no coincidence Namco Bandai has also filed a trademark recently. What's the trademark for? None other than Ace Combat Infinity.
Project Aces' teaser site is currently just a black screen with a bit of text slapped on top of it. Really the only way we can tell it's from Project Aces at all is that the developer's name is in the URL. This is the text that's plastered across the site:
"That day our sky fe||, the heavens split to create new skies."
If you're wondering whether the two "L"s in "fell" look different, that's because they do. On the website they're elongated, as if they were the roman numerals for 2 rather than "L"s at all! A sequel of some sort wouldn't fit with the Ace Combat Infinity title, but the text itself fits pretty well.
Project Aces and Namco Bandai probably won't leave us wondering for too long. Hopefully we'll get an official reveal on Project Aces' next game next week, whether it be Infinity or Ace Combat 5-2 or whatever.
