Solution: How to fix things when player relationship breaks down

most players get upset at various times and it's quite easy to fix, but i came across a problem that a lot of people have had and one which nearly cost me my star striker, it's different to the usual unhappy players, most of them still talk to you.

This solution is for a player who just wont talk to you and nothing you do will make him happy. I had a regen wonderkid who just wouldn't talk to me and he was set to walk for free and i knew whoever signed him would immediately get one of the best strikers in the world, so i was desperate to find some way to make him stay.From looking around on the web it seems that no one ever posted a solution to the problem and most people just had to let them leave for free.

Nothing i did made him happy or willing to talk to me. I was able to offer him a new contract but he would agree it in negotiations and always reject it in the end, so i thought i was done. The problem is that you can't access anything on the private chat at all, he just says he feels like the relationship has broken down.

SOLUTION:
1. You have to find some way of being able to talk to him and bypass the "relationship has broken down screen". So here is what i did. Even though he was going to walk in a weeks time i put him on the transfer list, the next day you get the "player is unhappy" in your inbox and you can start the conversation from there, he will say he's unhappy about being forced out and doesn't want to leave. So we've managed to at least get a conversation going, that's the first key. He started the chat so we got around the first problem

2. Save the game just before you start the conversation, the conversation itself is the way into the secret tunnel. You have to have swing him round in the conversation and often there is only 1 or 2 routes you can take to make him come around. With my striker there was literally only 1 conversational path that made him apologise and come round, so it may take 3 or 4 attempts to find the right path.

3. If you manage to swing him then you're on the route to success, after you make him happy he says "is there anything else you would like to talk about?" and VOILA, you find yourself being able to access the normal chat options that was blocked and impossible to access before.

4. I used the chance to tell him that he was amazing in the last game and he liked that, then i asked him to recommend a signing and he was happy with that. What i noticed with the chat is that you can only do a maximum of 3 things per chat so choose wisely. Once i had swung him round and used those 2 options to make him more happy the chat was done and i exited.

5. Go to his personal screen and what happens is that he will still say he is unhappy (in my case alienated from disliking a player who i said id sell and didn't) BUT there will now be an extra row saying: "Feels he has a good relationship with you".

6. Offer a new contract: You will now find that he will accept a new contract, when before he would reject every offer, even if you offered him the max on every available option, he would just reject it all. This time he will accept a normal contract offer and signed the deal!! After the new deal has been signed he is happy and normal again and the previous problem has now gone, so i can chat to him as normal and finally we are back to normal.

As far as i can tell, this is the only possible way to save this type of situation, it is different to normal unhappy players, they come around easily.
I was literally 2 days from him walking away for free so i was delighted to be able to find a hole in the system because i knew if i could just chat to him i could make him happy, but the problem is being unable to access that.

So there you go, problem solved and all back to normal and no need to lose a star player because they won't talk to you or sign a new deal
