Battlefield 3 Premium is certainly paying off for EA. During their second quarter earnings report today, the publisher announced that the paid Battlefield 3 service had accumulated over two million subscriptions.
Back in July, EA stated that the service, a direct competitor to Activision's Call of Duty ELITE, had garnered over 1.3 million subscribers. Prior to that, Premium was able to pick up 800,000 plus subscribers when it launched in June. October marks its fourth month.
Unlike the ELITE service at launch, Battlefield 3 Premium came with just a one-time fee that unlocked all services to its users. However, Activision announced just recently plans to make ELITE completely free come Black Ops 2 in November.
