It stops you appearing on the map apparently, i think DICE needed to fix it so that was the case. No kdea if they did fix it

Pre-patch the silencers only negative effect was increased bullet drop.

However the patch decreases the range of the weapon, that is the bullets reach their minimum damage sooner. The max and min damage still never changes. Though i could be wrong.

I dont use silencers simply because i like the guns to sound mean.

Anyway, I have been trying to find a primary weapon i like in the medic class and finally found it: The AN-94.

This weapon is a goddamn monster, i have been using it with the soviet 4x scope, a heavy barrel and M320. It is absolutely stunning. yesterday i used it in Operation metro and got 99 Kills for 16 deaths. Half way through the game loads of the enemies switched to it aswell.

The two round burst is absolutely brilliant.

Lately my mates have been offline and i have been playing Conquest as a lone wolf. No Squad. I have been playing spec ops style, that is avoiding fights with large groups and armor and stalking individual enemies, taking checkpoints on my own, using silenced weapons and the knife kills and slipping away unseen etc. I try to out-think and out-manouver enemies rather than tackle everything head on. Great fun.

Sidearm: G17c Silencer, laser

Squad Ammo

I have had some awesome moments using this class. I often find myself hiding with tanks and large groups of enemies just feet away, often looking right at me without realising. A tank was just inches from running me over yesterday and i couldnt move or i'd have exposed myself, was totally shitting it LOL.

Its loads of fun and pretty nerve wracking deciding when to fight and when to run. It almost feels like playing an awesome single player campaign mode.

I guess it would work with any silenced class but i find the SKS to be a very consistent weapon at both close and long range and its 20 round ammo count is very useful over other snipers. I also prefer a semi-auto pistol now as you can carefully watch your ammo. The mobile spawn is also really useful as I play without a squad for an extra challenge. Went MVP doing this a couple of times now. I'd definately recommend it if you find yourself playing alone.

Anyone else play this way ? What setups do you use ?

The best AR's i have found so far are:

1: AN94 - Incredibly accurate and powerful at range when using the 2 round burst and automatic is useful for point blank CQB stuff. Best mixture of long and close range.

2: M16A3 - Decent at close to mid range. Drops guys pretty quickly and is bloody accurate even on full auto. You need to be the US team to use one however, or max out your medic class to unlock it for both teams.

3: G3A3 - I have never used it as i havnt unlocked it from co-op yet, but every time someone comes within a mile of me using one i die. It simply must be good as it seems to drop me from any range in about 2 or 3 shots. I'll report back here after unlocking it this weekend hopefully.

People also seem to love the M416. I havnt used it but it has a really good rep amongst my mates. Most say it is the best all round assault rifle.

The AEK with the Medic class is nothing short of amazing on the smaller infantry-based maps like Op. Metro, Seine Crossing and Grand Bazaar. The high fire rate and accuracy can tear through groups of people, but you NEED the squad ammo to make up for it!
