Im guessing DICE/EA are using these player dirven servers as a test period. My assumption is that DICE/EA would like to run as many user created servers as is possible as a cash saver and are currently checking out figures to see how sustainable they are on a more permenant basis and as a major release feature of the next title. Therefore they want as many people as possible to play the user created ones. This is why they will allow us to turn off the dice server search but not user created ones. If DICE/EA could cinvince more of use to fund our own gaming they could save a load of cash. Wankers. Maybe im just a pessimist.

	I can understand that it cost money to keep servers up, but on the tail end of that DICE have charged me for a game that is designed purely to be a multiplayer one, then hand over the multiplayer aspect of the game to the players. it's like asking the community to patch saints row 3. 	I think it's unfair for them to not want to pay out the money to run servers when people are forced to buy an online pass when they buy the game second hand. It's crazy.

I think it might just be to give people a chance to play how they want. I mean there's a search function. Can't u just search DICE servers and pull them all up? You can pretty much filter out everything you don't want until the game finds your " perfect match".. Which isn't always the case but still. Maybe they just want to expand and become bigger than call of duty once was.

	I have recently been playing with a group of guys who rent their own server, but their rental ran out yesterday morning so i decided to cough up some cash and rent one for a day. If im honest it was great. Being able to set your own maps and tickets is a really awesome ability. I also enjoyed dealing with arseholes. I wasnt a monster though. My server description was as follows: Conquest, high tickets. No DART, No FRAG, No Claymores and no expoloits. Players will not be harassed by admin. Have fun. And i did something no other admin seems to do. I sent players messages warning them if i was going to kick and told them why i kicked them if i had to. And to be honest i had mostly positive responses. Most said "Sorry, didnt read the description" and changed their DART or FRAGs out for other equipment. Some argued back but folded and followed the rules and 2 guys got kicked for continually arguing with me. It only takes two seconds to warn someone and is a more respectful way of dealing with people. If you show them respect it will usually be shown in return. Its a shame the servers cost so much or i'd maybe take out a longer rental period. I'd still like much more control though. I'd like to be able to disable weapons outright, or perhaps have some sort of warning system which flags up players who break the rules. All in all it was an enjoyable, if expensive experience.

That's cool. I wish BF3 had more server administrators like you. I hate getting kicked and not knowing the reason why. When it happens too much, it ruins the game for people.

	Searching for DICE servers doesn't work to well now. DICE have ever taken the servers down, or rent a server people are getting attention by copying DICE server names -------------------

	DICE servers have been taken down apparently, probably due to the 'success' of Rent-A-Servers. Theres still a few EA ones knocking about but they're usually TDM and pretty unstable, in my experience. Which means that, unfortunately, BF3 is dying off for me. I hate having to use Rent-A-Servers as they're either ridiculously high ticket counts or blighted by meddlesome admin. I was fortunate in finding a private server before which runs similar rules and game modes to the DICE style servers. Had a blast with it. I was trying for the 'Get a kill in a jet, tank and assault rifle kill' and it was going well until I realised i'd accidentally picked a SMG. But yeah, now that theres no DICE servers its getting harder and harder to find a decent mode to my liking.

	If you delete 2 multiplayer updates it's all dice servers so that's a lie if it costs them a dime, the two updates enable usage of karkand and the rent-a-server both are 2g

	On 360 there are a lot more DICE/EA servers around now. Wish you could have more than 22 favourites. All but 1 are DICE servers on my list, the other is a really decent server I found a while ago. -------------------

Oh good, my friends think I'm nuts for not wanting to play on a 1500 ticket Operation Metro server all day to rank up. Between crappy connections, team balance failures and general douchebaggery I cry every time quick match drops me into these servers. Yes you can put DICE into the search bar, but there are some dishonest servers not run by dice that use the word in their titles for attention. Not to mention its an extra unnecessary step. It really would be easier to simply enable DICE only servers. Or get more admins to drop the ticket count. Seriously, why would anyone want to play any BF3 map to 1500 tickets? 	For those who like Hardcore servers, "Hardcore like a sir" is a good server. I play on it pretty much all the time. It's max tickets on all BF3 Conquest maps, sometimes they do the newest maps but for the most part it's the original ones. And as far as I could tell there are no rules except TKing or vehicle ramming.
