Battle Lounge - This Thread Are Sick

Its strange that they release a map with no vehicles when battlefield is ussualy so vehicle oriented. The BFBC2 BETA had tanks, APC's quads, UAV's and choppers. I dont even play maps without vehicles. Tanks are kind of what i do.

If i want a shooter without vehicles in it i'll play "Insert obvious game here".

Thats always been Battlefields big appeal for me. Think i might leave this game until later in the year, have Forza3, dead Island then MW3 to keep me happy right now. I'm not gonna blow £50 on something which isnt getting great big awesome and immediate appraisal from the demo, especially from existing hardcore fans. I thought everyone would be raving about this, its barely made it onto the top 10 forums.

Personally i'd have snipers painted luminous yellow, dressed as clowns carrying pink handbags wearing squeeky shoes and standing under a constant arrow which points downwards reading

But thats why im not allowed to develop games. Or to talk to people.

I have been trying to stimulate more conversations here. Its strange, theres actually a lot more to say and do in this game than COD, but CODS popularity means most end up repeating the same bollox over and over and over.

First topic of conversation, what do you blokes make of the upcoming CQB DLC pack ? When can we expect it and what kind of changes are being made ?

Im not actually all that excited, BF3 trying to be MW3 ? Dunno about that. Is it simply going to be BF3 on smaller maps or are large gameplay changes being made ? Killstreaks etc ? I'm actually looking forward to the armored warfare DLC much more, but i know nothing about it except the name !

^ I have my doubts about the CQB pack, but i'll definately play i with an open mind and give it a chance. I wonder if it will be completely vehicle free, or if it will include some vehicles. I'll be buying it for the new weapons anyway. I wonder if the SPAS-12 will be pump action or semi-auto. Ideally i'd love it to come with a selector switch but doubt that due to the current shotties lacking that option. I'd maybe prefer another powerful pump action in that case, we have enough semi-autos.

I cant wait for the armored warfare one though, well excited about that. I hope we see more "Opreation Firestorm" and "Gulf Of Oman" style maps with some interesting new vehicles. Bursting to see some gameplay footage or hear some official dice information on it.

Yeah JBH, I share basically all those opinions. I would like another pump action, the main appeal of CQB is definitely the new weapons for me as well, yet like you I will approach the pack with an open mind and hopeful outlook. I do enjoy CQB games now and then on Metro or Bazaar so it’s not like there is no appeal. But i still want game play changes. More players, kill rewards, more destructible environments... just something to spice up the CQB which in BF3 often just involves running around shooting people with little else to aim for.

I hope the weapons are acquired through assignment challenges as they were in Back to Karkand. I really enjoyed chasing tanks with repair tools and desperately trying to plant M-Coms for the new weapons, I got a bit obsessed actually. The only one I don’t have is the L85 which i'm gutted about but I just don’t play much Squad TDM. Never have a reliable squad online.

Also, the assignments expand my game. I didn’t like Sharqui Peninsula when I first played it, now its one of my favourite maps since the 2 hour assignment. I'd probably have cast it aside right away otherwise. I also started playing allot of Gulf Of Oman as a result and that is now hands down my favourite map of any BF game.

Also JBH, how did you highlight my name like that? Seen loads of people doing it but am not sure how. Cheers.
