Chain Capacity vs TP

Here comes the first to disagree!

There is something about CC that I really enjoy a lot in battle. TP has a limit and when that limit is reached it can really slow down battle. CC is always recovering and it can quickly or slowly depending on how well you can play. It sets such a quick pace to battles that I thoroughly enjoy.

CC has the better flow. Much better than TP. It makes for a much freer battle system free of the shackles of TP.

They both have their advantages and disadvantages...

CC:

Pros:
-Allows for nearly infinite combos so long as enough CC remains
-Battles seem to be much quicker with the CC system
-It restores itself in very little time,allowing spellcasters to keep on casting
-Various game mechanics can instantly fill it,be it skills that refill it once battle has lasted a certain amount of time,Eleth burst (Graces),or Accel mode (Graces f)
-Items aren't as necessary for healing so long as the party's healer has CC remaining
-Weapons can increase CC

Cons:
-Every offensive an evasive action uses it,so it gets used up quick
-As fast as it refills,it still can't seem to refill fast enough
-When CC runs out,all you can do is guard until it refills
-There are no gels that can restore it
-Free run uses it up fairly quickly,making it a less viable option in battle

TP:

Pros:
-Is only used up by artes,therefore you can always attack,even when it runs out
-Normal attacks can restore it
-Free run doesn't use it up
-Gels can be used to restore it
-Some skills can allow more artes of a certain level in a combo,and some games' OL can remove the limit altogether.
-Certain game mechanics can even lower TP cost (Innocence's awakening mode for example)

Cons:
-While normal attacks can restore it,it only restores around 1-3 points per hit,so it's not restored very fast
-Spellcasters are basically screwed once they run out,as most of them aren't made for physical attacks
-Many artes use quite alot of it,especially mystic artes,which always use 100 TP (or whatever remains if there's less than 100)
-Combos are generally limited by only allowing a certain amount of artes to be linked together,many games having a flow like this: Base->Master(Radiant mythology)/Altered(Vesperia)->Arcane.
-Since it doesn't automatically get refilled after battle,it's generally a bad idea to use lots of artes during normal battles in order to save TP for bosses


I personally prefer CC,but it's not like getting used to the CC system will make me want it in every game from now on.
