Oh man I just fought the bladehorn Boar on moderate. That dude wooped ALL of my characters. I had to use all 15 life bottles just to beat it. My characters never dodge, they just sit there and get ran over.
lol, listening to you guys makes me feel pathetic. I went through on Normal but had to change it to Easy to beat Kurt. I blame the combat system and how different it is to Vesperia which I've no lifed for the past few years.
That boss fight was intense. I changed it to normal to take him out. This game is gonna be so hard on chaos mode.
Oh god Kurt was an exception. Dude was a douchebag. He was the only time I ended up using more than 10 life bottles outside of the final boss of L&L.
He is the second or third for me. I swear my characters are really high levels because I battle almost every chance I get but they still get tore up by these boss fights so I end up spending almost all of my life bottles. Maybe I need to rethink my party or something.
I wish this was online so we could pair up with people in battle or something. I really want to go through this on Chaos mode but damn is it going to be taxing. :<
Remember when Fendel captures Frederic, and you go save him? You have to lure the Fendelian weapons to the meadow, where you meet up with Sophie again.
Well Evil mode in itself doesn't buff you. Enemies are just a lot tougher. However, with New Game+ you can make get bonuses and stuff.
Ah yeah I remember that boss. Stomped the floor with that fool. So I guess you really have to play with skill then huh.
Evil and Chaos you need to learn how to dodge to survive
Only enemies get stronger btw. More damage and more HP, but you get better drops and SP
Damn, but of course it makes sense. It would be stupid if you grew in strength as well seeing as it would defeat the purpose. Sounds really intense and fun. I just really don't think your team AI are smart enough to handle it. I may be wrong though.
I once sat there and watched Hubert take a hit directly to the head countless times. I mean he did dodge every once in a while but none of my team really did much dodging. Whenever I fought the big horned boar all my characters just kept getting ran over besides me. I had to revive them over and over again.
Okay, so it took me a while to notice, but you don't get Grade after battles.
Now, from what I understand, Soul Orbs can be sold for grade. Considering I want all the enhancements for the next game, does that mean the only way I can get Grade is beat tons of enemies and get tons of Soul Orbs?
Does this mean I will have to get tons of Soul Orbs on every playthrough in order to keep re-buying the NG+ Gradeshop bonuses?
Also, speaking of Grade, does this Tales have a Namco Banda Isle that you can gamble in?
To be honest with you Nicholas IV I have never even known what grade does. I think I have seen it at the end of battle though. Are you sure?
I started playing on Hard Yesterday and unlocked Evil without even noticing. Later I read a bit about the difficulties in the good ol' Google. I started playing on Evil now (there are times when I put it down to hard, some boss battles are indeed Evil). But other than that, I enjoy the benefits. Look at all that SP I can't hold!
I need to start playing on Evil soon. As soon as I beat the future ark.
I played through the game on hard myself (I'm in the future arc now),I did switch to evil for one boss fight (Victoria,I think),but I got owned beyond all reason and switched back to hard. I'll probably try playing on evil for NG+.
I haven't even started the future ark yet because of being busy but I heard the Future ark was way harder than the main story anyways. So that would probably be a good idea.
You don't watch the scene again. The moment you choose "retry" you are brought to the Triangle menu so you can just do your needed changes an start fighting immediately afterwards.
If you did I would rip my hair out in frustration.
I don't like dying in games, though. It makes me feel weak. Hmm, I dunno. I'm kinda in a weird position. My usual strategy is to grind so much that I can destroy bosses without much of a problem, but I guess it's a lot more fun if it's a close match.
I'm glad that it offers that kind of thing. I guess that means there's no shame in trying a higher difficulty and losing.
I hate losing to a boss a million times but I also hate beating them all on te first try without any trouble. So I like a challenge but not to the point that I get angry about it.

Yeah, losing too many times is annoying. Two or three tries against a boss is no big deal, but pretty much anything over 5 tries in a row with no success pisses me off....And I've actually had many bosses give me that in the game.
I much prefer bosses that I can beat on the first try,but make me work for it instead of just "Ok,attack me until I die,I won't KO any of your team".
Haha yeah I agree.
2 or 3 times is fine because if it is my fault that I lost, and not my parties strength, I love sitting back and finding new strategies. Honing on the basses style of attacks and movements until I finally get it all down. Makes for an interesting time I must say.
I'd just play on moderate if I was you right now until you really get things down at least. Hard, Evil, and Chaos are more for people who either beat the game already or who have been grinding up. That is the way I see it at least because some of these bosses can be hard even on moderate if you aren't prepared for it.
Yeah, Intermediate is probably more along my skill level. I just wanted to play Hard so I could unlock Evil even if I wasn't going to play it.
But Hard does give more SP, so that's nice. That's the main reason I wish I could play on hard. I can't figure out why I suck so bad. I try dodging, and I do sometimes, but the battlefield can be kind of chaotic.
Also, there's so many Artes to use that it's pretty hard to focus on using weaknesses. I mean, for boss battles I do, but still.
I don't know. It's just not working good for me. But I don't know what level I need to be or what gear to have and I have been just ranking every title I get to 5 in chronological order and moving to the next one (without mastering them).
Don't worry about it man you will get it. You just haven't had enough time to practice. It takes a while to really get the feel for.
I am getting wooped in the glacial ruins of Fendel on hard .
All my characters are level 65 on the future arc and they just keep surrounding all my characters. I used a dark bottle and I keep running back and forth into one area fighting the same monsters because they give about 8000 exp. I can beat them a few times then I lose a few times then I win a few times. Is that what it has been like for you guys or am I under leveled for hard at this location? My characters all die before me and I spent 15 life bottles just to win a normal battle because they couldn't stay alive. It is so damn frustrating.
The second one is what it is. I am fine because I can dodge the monster attacks unless I make one tiny slip up and I get stunned. My team AI just die and die and die. Malik is always the one to die first. I even tried to use malik insted of Asbel and then Asbel died in like 5 seconds, I don't get it tbh with you.
So I went to the Uncharted sandstream and all the way over the the secret Amarcian ruins where you use the Amarcian key and the monsters there really aren't that bad. I made it all the way through the dungeon. Also I found Oswell family vault and
Spoiler:
Lamda's crash site
. Found some great money at the vault and awesome armor for Hubert. Also found some amazing armor for Sophie as well.
I am all level 65 on hard at the future arc. Haven't beaten it yet because I want to grind up and beat all the sidequests now.
Me and my friend both got stumped haha. Looked at video walkthrough and figured it out after we watched a little. There really is nothing good AT ALL through that door. Don't waist your time. :<
On a side note, today I grinded up and mastered a bunch of titles and got all my party from level 65 to level 68. Still didn't unlock Evil though which is weird because I battled for hours but oh well.
